Spy Shots: The barely there Jaguar XJ
A Jaguar XJ mule was trapped on a ferry from Dover and became the unwitting subject of a thorough photo shoot. However, the new flagship sedan from Jag was protected by so much cladding that there isn't much we can glean from the shots except these three things: it has a beautifully crafted, nicely dished three-spoke steering wheel; the Jaguar Drive is finished in the same way as in the XF; and it has a new taillight design. The All New XJ site also revealed that the sedan will have the "most amazing" Bowers & Wilkins audio system in the world. For more than that, we're going to have to wait until July 9, when the car is officially revealed. In the meantime, check out the spy shots by clicking the image on the right.

thats probably one of the better attempts I've seen of a manufacturer trying to hide their stuff...beats the swirly watermarked vinyls.

Amazing attempt at concealing the car. Agreed.

Overall it looks like the car will maintain that low and long look that has been a cornerstone for the XJ since its inception. Really not much else to see.
I can't wait to see what is in store for us from Jaguar. Tata wants to come out with bang and they are not going to let this car be a disappointment.

This may be my next Saloon if Jag pulls it off correctly. I'm impatiently waiting. The list of "want" sedans is getting longer. The A8, 7 Series, S Class, and now Jag. The competition is really getting fierce.

I seriously cannot make ANYTHING out of those pictures.
I really need to wait to make any kind of judgment on the styling.

So with a complete rollcage its obviously off to the 'Ring' to tune some of the wallow out of the suspension. This means its going to take to fight to the competition.
All the best, my fingers are crossed.

May well be the best spyshots of a door handle in the history of automotive photography! Given that July 9th is just over two weeks away, I can wait for the real thing now.

From what little we can see, it seems to be using more cues from the XF concept. I hope they don't use monocle headlights...
