Koenigsegg, meet Saab. Saab, meet Koenigsegg.

Koenigsegg CCX meets Saab Aero X concept – Click above for high-res image gallery
Although the deal to purchase Saab between Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg and General Motors has not yet been completely finalized, that hasn't stopped us from openly pining for a production version of Saab's gorgeous Aero X concept car of 2006. And now that we have pictures of the showstopper adjacent to one of Mr. Christian von Koenigsegg's own gorgeous creatures, well... it may just be enough to keep us awake at night. We're not sure where these two-door millionaire's coupes got together for this photoshoot, but judging from the snow on the ground, we wouldn't rule out the motherland.
While it's way too early to tell if Saab's new ownership situation will help get the automaker out of the woods it has seemingly been lost in for years, we can't help but at least get a little excited when seeing these two together. Check them out in the high-res gallery below.

Wow that didn't take long for a photo shoot. They still have snow there!? I hope Koenigsegg makes Saab cool, because right now Saab isn't too cool

Nah man , the Turbo X just stinks (in a good way) of coolness.

Saab needs quite a bit of work to ever be cool, but this is a great start.

Saab was always cool until GM blandified it and turned it into another badge engineered middle-of-the road 'brand'. I'm looking forward to a resurrection of Saab's storied alternative but brilliant engineering and aircraft inspired aerodynamic aesthetics. Go Koenigssegg SAAB!

That SAAB AeroX Coupe is a bomb.

Chiney: Saab was cool up until the early 1990's ... assuming you remember before that time.

It's good to see saab on their feet. Even in their blander gm days the company produced decent products(just not show stoppers).

One potential problem for Koenigsegg in the short term is they will no longer be considered a small volume manufacturer given Saab's sales. They won't qualify for exemptions from meeting all the safety and emissions standards. I hope that doesn't kill off the CCX here.

It's not actually Koenigsegg that's buying Saab, so I think the Koenigsegg brand will be mostly unaffected. The buyers are a separate group of investors called the Koenigsegg Group, consisting of Christian von Koenigsegg, Norwegian Bård Eker (of Koenigsegg and Hydrolift) and American Mark Bishop.

The Aero X is so sweet that it makes the CCX look like a piece of turd in comparison.
