VIDEO: Transformers 2 clip shows Megan Fox tussling with Wheelie

We have some good news and some bad news. First, the good news, because that's just how we roll. We've got another clip of Megan Fox.. er, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. The bad news? It involves a "bad guy" Transformer named Wheelie that has a really cheesy New York wise-guy personality. His weaknesses appear to include a foul mouth, mousetraps and hot chicks – two out of three which being qualities that we can identify with. In any case, he gets his metallic little ass kicked by Fox.
Most TF2 previews have looked straight-up awesome so far, but if this annoying little 'bot has anything more than a cameo in the movie, well, we're not going to be happy. Hit the jump to see video of Fantastic Ms. Fox taking a blowtorch to mini Megatron.

How many trailers did it take you to get here?

He strikes me as less annoying than the stupid boom box that ruined the last movie.
Which was less annoying than the poorly directed action sequences.
Which were less annoying than the 20 minute sequence of Sam looking for his grandfather's spectacles in his bedroom.
All of which was less annoying than the formerly dependable John Tutturo.
The first was unwatchable. No reason this'll be any different.

Wow. Why does Michael Bay do this? He has these awesome action scenes, and if his movies consisted of nothing of that it would be just fine. But then he ruins them with cheesy crap like this. It destroys a perfectly good action film.

I know this may sound crazy, but Transformers has a pretty big kid fanbase and catering to them a little isn't going to hurt the movie any more than the fact that it was terrible.

So a cute, really foul mouthed character is just the thing parents look for to get them to take the kids out to the movies? I love the Bay-logic there. Characters like that are a great way to make a movie no one wants to watch. Too stupid for adults to feel comfortable with too, obscene for kids to watch. Just like the idiotic masturbation references in the first TF. All the 13 year old boys that sneak into the movie will probably love it but why cut out the rest of the potential audience? Just because you are shooting for the "PG-13" rating doesn't mean that's the only age group that might pay to see your movie. Think big here Mike. Thats lame.

fair point, jv2k. But I think it could be done better. Humor that entertains kids doesn't have to be so ridiculous, or so unappealing to those of us a little older. I'm pretty sure there are certain things everyone 9-99 still finds funny, at least in moderation.
Maybe Bay should have two separate cuts, one with kid-friendly content, and one without.
My point is, while I understand the need to appeal to kids, the way in which Bay does it does does not integrate with the feel of the movie, and just feels "thrown in." I'm worried that this movie could be ruined by the "funny" content, like this little !@#$ robot and bumblebee crying of all things.

I will end up seeing this one and paying for it, but agree WTF with the cheese-d_ck robot personality... i suspect this is a ploy to make it more child and female friendly????? movies need to be made for specific viewers, not made to appeal to everyone... cheesy voices are fine for pixar, not this

thats not the only corny robot in the movie either, there is some green bucked tooth redneck kind of robot too. the reason some movies are like this is for the money there not as much of an art form any more its all about the money.

It might have something to do with just the family appeal. Imagine if that robot had a sinister voice (or didn't talk at all, he doesn't have to) and was equipped with a mini dart gun or cutting blade. It could very easily have been a horror sequence, probably not what they were after. Even though the robot was small it could have very easily been deadly to Ms. Fox and nobody, I think, wants to see that.
Making it comical with a recognizable, though stereotypical voice and persona, makes the scene more palatable for a more general audience.
