VIDEO: Conan shows off first Fiat/Chrysler commercial

Chrysler and General Motors have been on the receiving end of more than a few skits by late show comedians recently, and new Tonight Show host Conan O'Brien took his latest shot at the Pentastar's tie-up with Fiat. O'Brien's latest gag is a mock Fiat-created Chrysler commercial for the Jeep Liberty.
The spot itself features a voice-over of a man with a thick Italian accent talking about how great the Liberty is on- or off-road, or even just driving in a circle. Hit the jump to view the video for yourself. Thanks for the tip, Jacob!

That was a lot less funny than the GM ads, or than his writing team could have come up with.

"That was a lot less funny than the GM ads"
Same amount of LIES, though.

Speaking as someone who is no Chrysler fan:
Conan makes fun of Chrysler for not having produced innovation. What innovation?
The minivan, the SUV, to name a couple. Gimme a break, they have had their high-lights as well and low-lights.

Don't you hate when people make fun?
Stuka 4:23PM (6/12/2009)
Uhm, Chrysler did NOT invent the SUV. The first SUV was arguably the Willys Wagon (Some say the Suburban but it was 2wd). Then there was the Jeep Wagoneer in 1962, which was the first 4wd to ever have an automatic transmission and was targeted at families. Jeep was owned by Kaiser at that time. Then there was the XJ Cherokee in 1983, which was the first SUV to not be a body-on-frame design. That was AMC's design. The Grand Cherokee was also AMC's design. Although by then the Ford Explorer was also selling like hot cakes. And well, there was the Bronco and Blazer that date to the 60-70's. There was also the RamCharger, but it also was late in the game. Chrysler didnt own Jeep until 87.
They did invent the minivan here in the states however. Although they already existed in other countries. The caravan is the closest to what we know as a minivan today.

Yes, the Mini-Van and the SUV. The vehicles that made the American think "the bigger the car, the safer I am."
Jake 5:14PM (6/12/2009)
Yeah, yeah, except nobody said "invent". The word is "innovate" and Chrysler brands innovated by getting the SUV right and popularizing it. Chrysler also brought us the minivan.
But, these two wildly successful and highly profitable products suck right? Because "lern2read fgt" gets insecure driving next to a minivan on the highway and feels bad about himself.

i'd take the toyota hilex over the minivans of "today" anyday. Especially back in the days.

That was absolutely pathetic. Conan is a know-nothing who takes cheap shots. Lame effort.

Conan is going to have to come up with more then that to recapture his lost market share. Viewership is down 42%! At least he is consistent with Chrysler in one thing...LOL

I never liked his show, I thought he was silly, not funny to the point I was embaressed for him.
