VIDEO: Motocrossing a Segway with James "Bubba" Stewart

Segway Supercross with James "Bubba" Stewart - Click above to watch the video after the break
Now, to answer what we're sure is a burning question on the minds of all of our readers... yes, it is possible to ride a Segway on a supercross track. Well, it's a burning question if you happen to be AMA Supercross Champion James "Bubba" Stewart, that is. As you'll see in the video we've conveniently pasted after the break for your viewing pleasure, for the rest of us, probably not.
From the looks of things, this particular Segway is one of the brand's off-road models and has some specific modifications to help improve its chances on Stewart's own personal supercross track. For instance, note its deeply lugged side-by-side tires, and, most importantly, the Renthal dirtbike-style handlebar complete with appropriate padding for safety.
Kids, don't try this at home. Now, how long 'till we see this replicated on MythBusters?

So... Not sure how this is challenging. The most boring 9 minute video ever filmed on a supercross track.

No kidding. Watching mold grow on my leftover pizza is more interesting.

My God! My heart just THROBS with excitement! What a THRILL! I would like to go on, but after all this, I am just physically drained. It is just amazing that someone could do this with a machine and live thru it. Do NOT try this if you are not a PROFESSIONAL on a closed track with the appropriate safety equipment and emergency medical assistance on standby. Lawsuit lawyers are salivating as we speak. I have to go get a nap now..............

I'd love to keep a segway in my Prius's trunk, but they are too big. I could have used one tonight as my church's youth cross country club had some young girls 'get lost' in the park. I'm too weak to walk, but a segway would have been perfect back there. One of these days I will ride or even have one. Tried to see WOZ when he visited here for his Polo club last year. But I was too sick.

You got too much junk, too much junk in your trunk.
Seriously, its a pain in the ass to load mine in my pickup truck, need ramps or a second person. The things are heavy.

The smugness, I can smell it.

This was great. Narrating it as if it was an actual race.

Bob Ross - I ate sitting next to him at a restaurant on McGalliard In Muncie (Indiana) with my Dad, Mom, Nephew. Only one of them is still alive today. Getting old sucks. Bob was a nice, gentle man.

Oh great. A segway. It serves the same function as a scooter, only it's less efficient, slower, single passenger, less durable, harder to repair, can carry less, and tremendously more expensive. What a brilliant idea!

I fully expected airborne segway craziness... I am thoroughly disappointed now.
