Porsche Design races into the summer with new Motorsport Collection
Porsche Design Motorsport Collection – Click above for a high-res image galleryWhen they're not styling phones, cologne, toasters, special-edition automobiles and such, Porsche Design keeps itself busy with sportswear for the driver and enthusiast. Previous collections from the company's Driver's Selection have taken all sorts of themes: Martinis, collaborations with Adidas, even the color white. But this spring the merchandizing division takes to the track with the Motorsport Collection.
The men's lineup includes polo shirts, board shorts, fleeces, t-shirts and more, including a limited-edition Gore-Tex jacket of which only a highly symbolic 911 examples will be made. The Motorsport Collection also includes items for women and children, plus coordinating accessories, all done up in matching white and gray with red trim, complete with sponsor logos in case your own endorsement deal hasn't come in yet. Fascination Racetrack: The Motorsport Collection
Stuttgart. Porsche and motorsport belong together. The Porsche Supercup and 24-
hour races on the Nürburgring – these are just two examples of races in which
Porsche is involved. And the one thing that unites everyone who attends these events
– whether drivers, teams or fans – is the fascination racetrack. For the start of the new
season Porsche Design Driver's Selection is presenting a new motorsport collection,
inspired by the official team clothing of the works drivers. The collection includes
highly functional accessories and clothing, made from high quality materials and with
modern cuttings.
The "All-weather GORE-TEX® Jacket" in white and grey is modelled on motorsport
racing suits. Intricate tape-sealing technology ensures perfect protection against wind
and rain and offers optimum comfort. Only 911 of these jackets will be produced.
With their motorsport logos on the left breast, a large Porsche logo on the back,
together with sponsors' names, these jackets are sure to turn heads. The collection's
rain jacket and vest are also windproof and water-repellent and have been inspired by
classical motorsport team clothing. The collection is rounded off by polo and rugby
shirts, a fleece jacket, shirt and T-shirt.
Like the men's collection, the women's collection is in timeless white and a subtle
grey, and is finished with classical motorsport details. The women's collection
includes a top, polo shirt and T-shirt. The motorsport top can be fastened at the neck.
Younger motorsport fans can cut a colourful dash with the red and white Children's
T-shirt together with a matching cap. The collection is completed by matching
accessories such as a cap, lanyard, fabric belt and collectors cup. For the summer,
the collection also offers a beach towel and knee-length board shorts.

the Internet at www.porsche.com/shop. Some of these products may be available
only in certain countries.

Porsche Design is a design company founded by F.A. Porsche. it's not the same as Porsche A.G. the car manufacturer.

I just can't imagine wearing a piece of clothing emblazoned with the brand of car I drive. Just don't get that. Well, maybe there are degrees of the doucheness involved in this, going from lowest to highest from hat to jacket.

Hey, Porsche Design did do a few cars; personally, I loved the Design Edition 1 cayman S; they set up the aesthetics of that car really nicely (but for the fact that the stripes all say "Porsche Design Edition 1" all over them, which is sort of lame).
and as for the cayenne, they just did the "design edition 3" take on the cayenne and it looks the hotness.

Nice driver’s jacket.
I think many driving enthusiast enjoy garments that are functional.
Most drivers usually bring a light rain jacket and a first aid kit on our driving trips just in case. (Changing a flat tire(s) on the road/highway in severe weather is not fun. Heehe.)
Some manufacturer’s vehicle roadside assistances programs are better than others.
It will be interesting to test some of the new tire technology and run flat tire systems currently available on today’s markets.

Man...those jackets look GREAT! I wanted one, but I think it'd be awful poser-like behavior to have one of those sweet @ss jackets, and not have an actual Porsche to back it up.
Oh well...I believe in progressive thinking. I'm sure..."if I buy it (the jacket), it will come (the car)"....
