Brammo Enertia - Click above for a high-res image gallery

We already know that Best Buy plans to begin selling the Brammo Enertial electric motorcycle sometime very soon, but we now have reason to believe it won't be the only vehicle available from the Big Box retailer. The following is from a statement that we believe is attributed to Best Buy on BNET Auto Blog:
We can confirm that Best Buy will be piloting electric-powered personal transportation products at some of its stores on the west coast later this spring. This selection will include Brammo.
Note, there will be a range of electric-powered personal transportation products. We have no idea what those other machines may include, but our interest is most definitely piqued. The first possibility that entered our minds was the Segway, but Best Buy has had years to pick up that product line if it was interested. Of course, you'll know more just as soon as we do.

What?! The world's leading E85 compatible automaker trashing the future of the most widely sold and used alternative fuel? Head of the automaker that promised in 2008 as part of begging for tax dollars to make half its vehicles flex fuel capable by 2012? Itself a ridiculously leisurely pace since it only costs $100 per new car to add flex fuel capability at the factory? And in favor of CNG?! Which has to be compressed (obviously) into heavy bulky extra fuel tanks? When it would be far cheaper and easier just to add FULL flex fuel capability - including methanol which can be most cheaply made from natural gas (methane) but unlike methane is a liquid and can be mixed with gasoline in the same fuel tank? How does this foot in bucket, fall down the steps clown get such a position of responsibility? How does this ungrateful boor so casually break solemn promises to American taxpayers? This is an outrage!

People actually buy Segways? I think I have seen one outside of a mall, or trade show.
I have yet to see one in person. All I've seen is on TV shows and news articles.

I have seen them multiple times in use by the public. The thing to keep in mind is that it requires a certain type of town to make them useful. If you have a three to four mile trip in and out of your manufactured neighborhood then it is highly unlikely you will find the popular.

Most of the places I have seen them are built using a traditional block design with a mixture of residential and commercial districts near to each other. It also helps if there is already a healthy biking/walking community.

I also believe an electric cycle is well situated for the secondary roads of speeds < 55 MPH. It is just too bad that they didn't decide to go with the 3-wheeled designs that are becoming more common (2 front, 1 back). There would have been much more room for batteries and there possibly could have been a range extender/recharger.

Just a heads up... The Best Buy in Tualatin Oregon has been selling Segways for at least 6 months now.

It's not correct to say that Best Buy would begin pilotting EV's at their stores. They've been carrying Segways at select Best Buy locations since at least October 2008.

I appreciate the concern which is been rose. The things need to be
sorted out because it is about the individual but it can be with
everyone. The initiative taken for the concern is very serious and need an
attention of every one. This is the concern which exists in the
society and needs to be eliminated from the society as soon as
      Buy and Sell

Best Buy in Tualatin, Oregon will be one of 14 stores in the company to carry at least 5 different electric vehicles, including the segway, which they have carried since October.

I can confirm Best buy sells segways in Santa Clara and San Jose as well.

I just left the Shanghai Bike Show and heard that Currie is going to be included in the test marketing of their ebikes at Best Buy. FYI.

I'd love to go this route for my summer commute - Chicago 90 mile round trip 80% highway. With that, I keep getting slapped in the face with the reality of being an early adopter wanna-be. If this bike could do 75 miles at 75 mph, I'd have one in my driveway as soon as possible. And yes, I could charge at work but this bike still falls short on the top speed/range for my one way commute.
