Ford named Official Truck and SUV of Yankees
Audi is the official luxury vehicle of the New York Yankees, Toyota said it's a sponsor but hasn't said how, and now Ford joins the cavalcade of motorized Yankee stadium financial backers by providing the official truck and SUV of the pinstriped boys. The deal is mostly for signage on the field and concourse, along with Yankees promo materials, with some display dates thrown in (as with the Audi deal) on Babe Ruth Plaza. Ford hasn't said how long the partnership will last, but we suppose it's best to throw coin at promoting trucks and SUVs with the way gas prices are right now. Tarrytown, NY – Ford has stepped up to the plate to become the New York Yankees official Truck and Sports Utility Vehicle. The announcement, made today by the Tri-State Ford Dealers, expands Ford's relationship with the Yankees and gives the company new ways to reach fans at Yankee Stadium.
"The New York Yankees and Ford are an integral part of American heritage," said Mark Paladino, Chairman of Tri-State Ford Dealer Association. "The New York Yankees are one of the most successful franchises in the history of sports. As the Official Truck and SUV of the New York Yankees, we are building on that legacy of success through an all-encompassing sponsorship at Yankee Stadium."
When the Yankees opened its regular season at home on April 16, 2009, Yankee Stadium included Ford fixed and rotating signage and the designation as the Official Truck of the New York Yankees. Details of the sponsorship include:

All I can say is, if there is any American company showing any type of progression it's definitely ford. Their current lineup especially the new F-150 and the Fusion Hybrid are just gorgeous.
They deserve it.

Yeah, and they still sell the SH*T out of it! It might be old, but that only matters to douchers on internet message boards. The people who are buying the cars don't care, because they're looking for a safe, reliable small sedan that gets very good gas mileage and has Sync. They aren't looking for hot hatches.
In two years, not only will we have the Euro Fiesta, but we'll also have the Euro Focus, and you all can quitcherbitchin'.

The Focus that is comming here is not the one that is Europe currently. It's the one that Europe is getting, a refresh of the current.
The Euro Focus has owned the Civic in every European magazine and a far superior car pretty much since it's inception. You don't have a clue how nice that car is until you see it in person.

Why? What does this actually give them? It's not like any of the Yankees actually drive and endorse Fords. They all drive expensive imports. And since its New York, where imports are favored, I dont understand what Ford thinks it might get from this deal.

We all endorse and even defend vehicles we don't or never will be able to drive. It's not about the Yankees. It's about those 70K+ fans in the stands and the other howevermanyyouwannacallit million watching on tv. I mean locally, Jeter does adverts for Ford. Man he must like that Edge. Oh, so my point? It's not entirely dumb.

Well they want to make sure their official truck company is still in business through the 2009 season. Looks like Ford is the only viable choice.
But how many yanks drive trucks? Might as well make a checker cab the official car.

Checker cabs haven't been in widespread us in NYC for a decade or more. The Crown Vic is the current cab of choice, so maybe THAT should be the official vehicle of the Yankees
My money is on most of the Yanks driving Escalades, like most other sports and entertainment stars.

Well if the overpaid and underperforming crowd are driving one, that means i have to get one too. Wow, maybe i'll start dating as many women as Jeter does.
But honestly the partnership is perfect, Yankees are knows as Bombers, Ford makes Exploders, Yankees Blow, Fords Blow. A-Rod make 20 mill a year, Mullaly makes 21 mill a year.

Are you really Americans? I own 6 cars, all the products of
Chrysler,GM & Ford. All have performed flawlessly.
1 Cadillac, 1 Lincoln, 3 Mustangs and 1 Jeep.
You'd probably prefer Mitsubishi or Nissan to be the sponsor ?
