Shanghai 2009: Nevermind the BMW, Great Wall's Hover M3 is deep-puddle approved!

Great Wall has taken the wraps off this chunky, funky urban toughster, the Hover M3 (sorry, BMW). Reportedly based on the Scion xB-aping Coolbear, the production-bound M3 adds some faux off-road capability to the former vehicle's boxy proportions.
Even if it lacks genuine rock-hopping ability, the upright result of the added cladding, big fender flares, and larger front light fixtures gives the H3 added spunk and originality. Looking a bit like a cartoonist's narrow-gauge Dodge Nitro, we might nix the big chrome wing badge on the front grille, but otherwise, we could almost see this car playing in the States. If nothing else, the M3 is markedly more original than the Coolbear, right?

It looks kinda like the Chevy Orlando from the front and with HHR tail lamps in the rear.

It's basically their Great Wall "Coolbear" xB/bB ripoff with different front/rear facias and plasticpalooza trim.

Looks like the supplier of the plastic cladding for the Aztek and 1st gen Avalanche finally found a new business partner.

More of a Chrysler/Opel badge.

Ain't gonna happen. If they got away with the Coolbear (which was a direct ripoff), chances are nothing is going to happen with this one either.

You have no idea about China.............

I'm sorry, but this is another shameful chinese rip-off.. Try looking up "Mahindra Scorpio".. The design of this car is just a Xerox copy of that Indian SUV

I believe the word "M3" is registered and trademarked by BMW. When Infiniti revitalized their "M" model range BMW went after them for infingement. I would expect them to do the same hear.

dude they totally ripped the design from the chevy groove...look at the headlamps/ hood to grille detail and tail lamps.... This thing is another Chinese knockoff!

How can you say it has 'originality; when in the next sentence you say it looks like a scaled down Dodge Nitro?
The very idea of China having its own design ideas is about as brilliant a statement as saying we can fix the economy by printing more money.

I like it.
It's not original, and some of the details (lights and grille) are iffy, but if Scion had made a crossover version of the original xB like this, I bet it would have sold well.
