Shanghai 2009: Geely GT returns as Tiger, complete with interior and working doors!

The Geely GT Concept stole the show at last year's Beijing Auto Show, mostly because it stood out as one of the few Chinese designs that wasn't a Xerox copy of something sold elsewhere in the world. Geely designers walked out on a limb with their pens and created a truly unique shape with interesting details, and regardless what you think of the result, at the very least it drew praise for being an original Chinese design. As we reported earlier, Geely has brought the GT Concept back for this year's Shanghai Auto Show, this time with a complete working interior and butterfly doors (the original was just a shell). This suggests that the car is slowly marching towards production as the Chinese automaker works out engineering issues and again judges the reaction it receives at this year's show. Should the GT reach Chinese showrooms, it will likely be called the Tiger (its current name actually stands for "Geely Tiger"). The question now is whether or not Geely will give its unique coupe some claws.

Looks like a GM dash/IP. They probably just ripped one out of a Buick and slapped it in.

No, this appears to be a custom body on top of a Daewoo Lacetti Premier. The dashboard is indeed from Lacetti.

They designed an original exterior then carbon copied the exact dashboard from a CTS.

Are you blind? How does this look in the least bit like a Solstice. Seriously, you might as well claim it looks like an Audi if you think all cars with a break in the front fascia look alike.

The exterior might not be as original as you think: I see some pretty strong Alfa 8C lines there as well. Think Alfa Romeo exterior with gullwing doors and a Caddy dashboard. Originality doesn't seem to be the Chinese's strong suit.

Except that the Geely GT has been in the works for the past three years. Which shoots your "it's Chinese, so it must be copied from something" claims up the backside.

The front end looks like it's a squawking bird but besides that it's not bad looking.
Honestly it's an automobile, there is only so much originality you can get without looking ridiculous in contemporary times. This is even more true with interiors. That said the interior looks almost exactly like a red cts one. Even the badge is reminiscent of the Cadillac crest.

Oddly enough the car is an evolution of the 2005 CD (Chinese Dragon) concept.

The dashboard kinda confirms my suspicion that Geely GT II is again developed in Korea by Third Eye Inc.
Geely GT I : riding on Ssangyong Chairman.
Geely GT II : riding on Daewoo Lacetti(aka Chevy Cruze outside of Korea)

Where are you getting your facts from? The interior looks nothing like a Lacetti(Cruze). If anything, there's some 370z in the shape. You're just bashing and making up facts as you please.
