Shanghai 2009: Chang'An E301 Concept gets asymmetrical up in here

Chinese automaker Chang'An arrived at the 2009 Shanghai Motor Show with this concept in hand: the E301 crossover. The Citroen-ish concept appears to eschew practicality for gratuitously outlandish design elements. For instance, the roofline extends to the back of the concept on one side only, leaving the other side with just a curved rear window. Giant wheels, upper and lower windows and gullwing doors suggest to us that the E301 will come and go as a concept only. Its fictional powertrain is apparently hybrid, at least according to the English writing on the rear of the concept that brands the vehicle as a "Fun Hybrid Concept". Dang...I dont know how people can dog on cars like the Hyundai Nuvis and thinks this is "OK"...seriously messed up perceptions!

While I'm not a fan of this concept (think it's pretty ugly), this is so out there that it's obvious that's it's just a fantasy concept design exercise.
The Nuvis on the other hand actually looks like it might come to market, and that hideous front end can't really be thought of as a fantasy design exercise unless it's an exercise in the design of our nightmares.
So this is like crazy art, whereas the Nuvis is horrifying in the Aztek kinda way.
