Ukranian class warfare apparently leads to toasted Chevrolet Corvette

Torched Corvette in the Ukraine - Click above for a gallery of images
Judging by these photographs, someone in the Ukraine didn't like this Extra-Crispy Chevrolet Corvette. And although the melted plastic lump is being been blamed on "class warfare," it could have been an insurance scam, a tryst gone bad, or some hardcore Grand Theft Auto: Streets of Kiev payback – who knows.
The precedents point to any number of reasons, like the Viper that was flambéed perhaps because of The Mark, or the 14 foreign cars that were torched in Moscow for no reason that anyone could guess. But the result here is still a shame: a charbroiled C6. Tip your hat to a fallen comrade, and check out the gallery of photos below.

I don't care what you think of the corvette, whether it's better or worse than any other competitors. this kind of act is unacceptable. i feel bad for the poor guy who spends his money to buy this car, and sees it destroyed like this...

"new body kit!"
Jokes aside - burning someones car is never the way to go about getting things to change. Just immature and childish really. If you are angry, use that energy to organize a legal protest or rally for your cause.

Here is a new guess for you. An engine fire. Front of the car is melted away, less and less damage as you head back. Even the rear tires seem to be in good shape leading me to believe the fire department was called before it could go farther, not to mention the heat alone would have melted the rest of the car considering how badly the front of the car is melted.

No innocent vehicle should have to fear being burnt at the stake...And when everyone is screaming about how we need to tolerate one another...

Let's get real here. I don't see why this would make news here on Autoblog...
The population of the USA is 303,824,640, and I'm sure everyday, there are more then a few C6's that get totaled.
Not to mention, this is a random act of violence on a 50,000 dollar car. It would be like setting an A4 on fire, or lighting a match to a small trailer home.
It's hardly the same thing, and I dunno if you're trying to appeal to the Corvette fanboys here, but I don't see how this is news.

Its news because the media must keep making the economy seem terrible so as to make socialism more acceptable, I mean class warfare isn't the problem- that's just an excuse for the degenerates to break the law and feel like its okay.

In Ukraine we burn car for fuel. Plastic car burn better than metal car.

That model of Daewoo parked right behind what's left of the Vette was later rebadget as Chevrolet in Europe, so, technically, number of road-worthy Chevrolets in Ukraine hasn't changed.

The car in the picture is a Daewoo Lanos. It was always marketed worldwide as a Daewoo.
It was replaced in 2001 by the Kalos, which used a heavily modified version of its platform. That car went on sale some years later in the States as the Chevrolet Aveo, and was rebadged Chevrolet Kalos in most European markets from 1 January 2005.

Save the Enzo's, Save the Vipers, Save the Vette's...what's next?
I mean it's only one, I'm sure Kentucky can bang out another one quintillion Corvettes this year! YAY! (Anyone who finds the definition of Quintillion will recieve a box of Jonathon Ramsey's toasty Vette cereal!) ^.^
