The Price of Green: Bentley Continental Supersports is $267,000
The Continental Supersports has been priced, with Bentley having decided that $267,000 is fair compensation for exclusive access to green, luxurious speed. The ethanol-capable Conti is not only a sign of Bentley technology to come, it also provides the first clues to the next generation Continental, which we were told "isn't far off." Orders can be placed beginning in October, though the first couple hundred units earmarked for the U.S. will be gas-only, with the full on flex-fuel model arriving Stateside summer of 2010.
The total price includes ceramic brakes but not destination and gas guzzler tax, which will take you up to about $275,000. After that, the only limit is your Cayman Islands balance. Check out the gallery of high-res pics below.

I'm gonna guess this "green" Bentley still has several cows' worth of leather and plenty of wood in the interior. This thing is as "green" as the Lexus LS600h.

OK, so I was obviously wrong about the wood part :o

Last time I looked ethanol was made (very inefficiently) from plant matter at a greater cost to the environment - water, land and food supplies - than oil. Still, if some rich gold-chained fat bugger with a labotomised bimbo in his arm can fool his disgusting friends that he has fantastic environmental credentials who am I to worry.

It's either a good or a bad sign that I looked at the headline and thought, "267K, that's not that bad."
