Click above to watch episodes of Top Gear Russia

The Russians have succeeded where the Americans have failed: they got a local version of Top Gear on the air. It's got all the familiar elements: fast cars, oddball challenges, timed laps, beautiful shots, beautiful women, explosions, mayhem, and it's even got The Stig, who drives in Russian. Some suggest the versions without subtitles could be better than the versions with, if you aren't attuned to Russian humor. Check out the unsubtitled shows after the jump; if you don't speak Russian and you really have to know what's up, look here.

Driving in Russian? Does that imply playing Russian Roulette with your vehicle every time you get into the car?

Nobody has ever accused Autoblog of being up to the minute with news reporting. :)

Hide the Vodka? I wonder if TopGear USA would debut would Russians say hide the cheeseburger

and fries and onion ring and a milk shake and a double chocolate chip cookie and a doughnut.........all in one meal mind you.
Grow up. Not all Americans eat what you do in one meal.

Stereotypes usually do have a basis for starting though lol

Seems Russia isn't included in alcohol consumption figures unfortunately.

But relax, its all just taking the piss :)

Vodka is a distilled beverage and one of the Russian's most popular liquors. Nothing else couldn't come in their mind...but I like their show more about vodkas is here: http://www.joyspirits.com/category/vodka/

Exactly the point. Not all Russians drink vodka.

Take off the doughnut and I'm in for that meal.
And not all Russians can get women? Like you?

        j/k, don't take offence. :)

I actually thought that the show was great in comparison to the knock off from Australia. But it really helps to know Russian, and more so to be from there to understand most of the humor.

Let me assure you, you'd be disappointed to learn that there isn't much of it. None of it, to be exact.

the show is not for us Americans soccer mom!!!

This is for those in Russia, and it seems like a great show, in my opinion far better than top gear Australia.
Haven't seen the Aussie's version for I don't care much for spin-offs when the original is still on.

I agree that it is for those in Russia and perhaps by the Russian standards it is great (and it is patriotic, hurray!). However, this really pales in comparison to the original. On its own Lada is not such a bad car, but comparing to Aston Martin...

On second thought, after 7 pints (not American pi$$ 4% beer), it begins to sound OK. I guess I need to keep drinking to fully appreciate it.

I live in America and I hate fast food restaurants with a passion, let them burn in exchange for healthier and tastier meals instead of those fatty foods I see in every corner of our country.

jk I know there is a lot of good food in our country but sometimes this are hard to find.

Im russian and i hold no bias towards the show. Im sorry but its a load of CRAP. In the first 15 minutes they manage to say that a mazda miata is a piece of crap, when the car has won best sports car under 40 thousand, Best roadster for the money and so on. Then that moron says that the Panamara is the first porsche automobile with four doors, Idiots forgot the Cayenne? Added to the fact that they are all second rate musicians and have nothing to do with automobiles. Atleast on the Aussie version one of them actually raced cars. And SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THIS VERSION of the STIG managed to get a BASE Range rover sport around any track faster than a mazda miata. Even the Supercharged version of the RR sport would get eaten alive by the Miata. The RR sport accelerates a second slower to 60, brakes 20 feet longer from 60, does the slalom slower by about 9 miles and grips the road wrose then a miata by .07g's. IT is physically IMPOSSIBLE. I own a audi Q7 3.6 which is a tiny bit faster and dynamically much more capable then a RR sport (regular not supercharged) and i have driven the miata at several events and it ate up much more powerfull cars then itself onthe track. I call bull
