BMW Announces Megacity hybrid-electric vehicle

BMW Chairman Norbert Reithofer has reportedly confirmed a new eco-friendly machine called the Megacity Vehicle as part of the automaker's Project i. Beyond the name, details are sketchy. According to Reithofer, "Customers will have the choice between a fully electric drive and a high-efficiency combustion engine. Large-scale production could start in the first half of the next decade."
We're not entirely sure if that means the vehicle will be some sort of hybrid or if it will be offered with two separate powertrain options. We're also wondering if the Megacity has anything to do with the rumored small car development with Fiat, which would supposedly spawn new city cars from both the German and the Italian automaker. BMW is also "pursuing a radical approach toward establishing a truly sustainable value chain-from development to production and sales," said Reithofer.

That's some nice failed HDR you got there.

I was just going to post the exact same thing. I hate when people leave that white "glow".

I was wondering what that was.

Well, you learn something new every day. I'm a decent photographer but had never heard the term HDR, and had to look it up. Thanks for the lesson guys.

GM stole the caption contest car idea from ze germans. BMW executes the idea better.

Not the best example of a HDR imagery, but it's nowhere near awful. Let's have a link to some of your HDR photography eh?

the front of that car is supposed to be white. instead it's mcdonalds hamburger gray. i shoot for a living, so i look down my nose a bit at HDR in principle, but it's not all bad. that, however is a very poor example.

Sure looks like the old BMW Isetta to me.

Does that mean the next small car from Chrysler will be co-designed by BMW and Fiat then?

HDR is cool but I don't think it works well in this case.

Good God, what is up with the Isetta? Are you trying to put a "car halo" around the car, whoever you are (photo modifier)?

It seems to me the gas drinking companies are the ones that de-sign the electric cars and they make them as ugly as they can so people won't buy them.....
