VIDEO: CARnage - How not to get your M3 back on the track

Click above to watch video after the jump
Ouch. After taking an off-track excursion and narrowly missing major guardrail contact, the driver of this BMW M3 tries to just power back onto the track. Not so fast says the berm as it totally tears up the undercarriage. The driver's miscalculation leaves this high-performance 3-series high centered and in need of a push, and the car likely sustained more damage before its wheels were once again solidly on tarmac. Check it out after the jump. Thanks for the tip, Fred!

The term "more money than brains" seems to fit.

How's that BMW joke go...
"What's the difference between a porcupine and a BMW owner? With the porcupine the pricks are on the outside."

Smart. They should call up they guys from a few days ago who specialize in towing Jeeps out of ruts for some help.

There ought to be a law against car abuse similar to laws on child abuse or spouse abuse.

I don't know, looks like he did more than put a chip in the paint. If he bent up suspension components, the bottom floor pan.......

1500-2000 might be a portion of the labor. But as stated above, he most likely has the coin to fix it (or fix it, take it back as an early return, and get a new one)

Your kidding right?
To replace the front fender, repaint the bumper cover, fix a ding on the hood and bump out a dent on the opposite fend plus a few touch ups here and there on a 2006 Ford Focus, it would have cost me $1300-1700 (depending on where and how crazy I wanted to get).
Brad 7:09PM (3/19/2009)
That would be for a ford focus.
Not a BMW where parts are ridiculously expensive for no reason.

All I see is the side of the road breaking up.

Hey I have a BMW and I can kick your ass ;)
cheezwiz 9:39AM (3/19/2009)
dollars for donuts you don't take your MB on the track. If so, I don't think you should be casting judgment on large swaths of drivers.
That said, you are correct. this guy did not know how to drive. At least he learned his lesson about oversteer on the track.
kal326 10:55AM (3/19/2009)
I really hope that's the chick in the backseat making allow those odd noises at the beginning, otherwise that guy has no business being behind the wheel of anything other than a VM Bug.

He is a idiot, but I wouldn't call him a tool.
"Tool" would imply that he is a jerk, and there is nothing I saw that would qualify him as a jerk.
If this happened on public roads, while racing, he'd be a tool.
