Top Gear returns in June with Series 13

If life without new episodes of Top Gear is too depressing to bear, you only have a few months to wait for Series 13. Clarkson, Hammond, May and the Stig will be back for more automotive mayhem in June. The terrific trio will undoubtedly have a whole new arsenal of automotive hi-jinx waiting for us in the new series, but those stunts will have to come cheaper than in previous series. To keep the show in the black during tough times, Top Gear took a substantial budget hit. On the Top Gear blog, Executive Producer Andy Wilman noted that the show was already running on a drum-tight budget, and that 2009 cuts will be evident in the final product. We hope not, but we're sure that the guys at Top Gear will air nothing short of an innovative and entertaining Series 13.

I wonder if budget cuts mean less super cars or less expensive challenges?
Either way, I'm going to go rock in the corner like a junkie until I get my Top Gear smack in June.

Less shows if I remember correctly. Rather than trimming say 10% (random number example) off each show, they'll just trim 10% of the shows.
Andy Wilman (TG Exec Producer) blogged about it on TopGear.com a while back.

June is going to be a blue ribbon month. The return of Top Gear and a new season of "The Closer".
Now if we can only delay the start of hurricane season.

Maybe they could get back to reviewing cars? I like the entertainment/humor aspect, but sometimes I think it's on a bit thick. wonder if they lay-off the Stig in this season...

I am hoping they stay away from car reviews and stick to what they are good at, the entertainment.

@Jakesnake1294
I guess you've never seen any of Clarkson's "normal" car reviews from the old Top Gear of the '90s. They are nothing like the reviews that are on Motor Week, trust me. Clarkson doing an ordinary roadtest on a Peugeot is more entertaining and informing than you might think.
cawfebug 9:51AM (3/17/2009)
True, true. I remember them well (90s), and didn't mind them too much - because you got to see more of the car. Guess todays shows are just a bit much at times, kind of get tired of the crazy-ness... but I still buy the episodes on iTunes - still are a laugh at times.
Guess I'll have to watch Fifth Gear, or Motorweek (Det. pub TV)!!

Amen. More car reviews and more team vs. crappy cars. Less supercars vs. random form of transport. It got old after the 5th time.
And there is no such thing as too much Stig.

@Quattroporte
I'd prefer reviews like he did with the Ford Fiesta in the mall etc.

Cawfebug, that's what Fifth Gear's for =D

"Clarkson, Hammond, May and the Stig will be back for more automotive mayhem in June. The terrific trio.... "
Isn't that (4 people) a quartet??? :-)
A: Hi, so we've got this quarter. There're three of us, me and my brother...
B: You have a brother !?
A: No, why...

The budget cuts wont affect the amount of bovril and badgers .
Horray for season 13.

Heck if they do an entire season with used car challenges (who can forget the wonderful 100 Pound car challenge?) I'd be pretty happy. Clarkson smoking up supercars is fun to watch, but their fooling around with regular cars is even more entertaining.

The budget cuts are only going to make Clarkson do even crazier and more entertaining things!
