Catch Truth in 24 this Friday on ESPN

The 24 hours of Le Mans is arguably the toughest, most famous race in the world. Audi has dominated the annual event since 2006 with its revolutionary, diesel powered R10. Truth in 24 (Autoblog review here) is the story of the 2008 race as seen from the pits of team Audi. The four-ringed automaker commissioned the visual masters at NFL Films to produce the documentary, and the resulting film is a must-see for anyone even remotely interested in racing.
ESPN is airing the brilliant documentary on Friday, March 20 as a kickoff to the ALMS season. The Friday airing of Truth in 24 is the perfect precursor to the world racing debut of Audi's new R15 at the 12 Hours of Sebring the next day. This documentary has fast become one of the best racing films of all time, and it's definitely worth your time. Thanks for the tip, Horst!

What about Canada? When do we see it?

After we torrent it.

Thanks Marko. I can't wait.

I'll be torrenting it too! ..and the entertainment industry wonders why so much content is illegally downloaded. This is one piece of work I'd very gladly pay for. Plus, Canada has to wait nearly two weeks for the next season of Rescue Me. At least Ice Road Truckers (filmed in Canada about Canadians) is finally broadcast on History Television in Canada.

I have to hand it to Audi, that in addition to making a winning prototype, they also manage to make them look great.

Nice of them to schedule it during the finale of BSG and Terminator:TSCC with no repeat later. My TiVo HD only has two tuners .Please think of the nerds next time!

If your such a nerd go to hulu.com and watch Terminator:TSCC the day after and then record The Truth in 24 instead.

I did figure out how to do it. Since BSG has a repeat later in the evening, I moved that. All is well.

I got the chance to see Truth In 24 at the Santa Barbara Film Festival and IMO it is THE BEST movie about racing EVER! NFL Films did a great job of catching the behind the scenes drama. It's a must see for any race fan, even if you hate Audi. It's the first time I saw a movie that had the entire audience give it a standing ovation at the end.

Definitely going to be watching this, thanks for the heads up.
On a side note,
Does anyone know anything about the status of "32 hours 7 minutes"? They were pretty good about updating the website but ever since October of last year there has been nothing... It seems like it has been 'almost finished' for over a year now. I'm not complaining, I just really want to see it.

+1 on 32 hours

Check your facts Chris. There is no argument that LeMans is the most famous ENDURANCE race, the Grand Prix of Manaco is by far, a more famous race.
The 12 hours of Sebring is much tougher (no argument), just ask anyone who has raced there, or better yet, ask the mechanics which track eats more drivetrains and brakes.
LeMans is an 8+ mile circuit with approx. 21 turns, Sebring is a 3.7 mile, 17-turn circuit. Anyone that is serious about winning LeMans, must run Sebring. All agree that if your car can finish Sebring, LeMans is a piece of cake.
I would take the drive in the French countryside over pounding around a WWII base in the middle of Florida any day.

BTW: I absolutely love the 24 Heures du Mans. Have missed watching the race since I got out of the Navy 21 years ago. It is by far the most important race on my calendar.

Firstly, the term "arguably" refers to the fact that one could reasonably argue both those facts. I don't think that the fact that they are "arguable" is even debatable... and certainly not to be so brazenly dismissed.
Andin any case, Comparing the toughness of Sebring to the toughness to Le Mans is apples and oranges. More night driving, higher top speeds (and average speeds), and double the running time present very different challenges at Le Mans.
As for the most famous argument... Monaco is exteremly well known, yes. So is Le Mans. I think it's closer than you think. There's no debate which is richer, but if you've ever been to Le Mans, I'm sure you know which attracts more people.
Mr.Oak 11:21AM (3/16/2009)
Matt: LeMans is a week long event, held in a venue that is more accessible than Monte Carlo. Scales of economy also prevails. If I could get a room in Monte Carlo, can normal working stiffs like me even afford it on race day weekend?
Higher speeds would only be a factor if they were driving Hyundai Exels. Besides, the speed and challenge factor have been neutralized with the addition of the two chicanes on the Mulsanne straight and they have also shaved the "ski ramp" down. Ski ramp = hump on the Mulsanne that caused quite a few LeMans protypes to try launch like an aircraft. The most memorable being Peter Dumbreck in the Mercedes CLR in the 1999 race.
Talk to the people who actually race there, LeMans is magnitudes more prestigious than Sebring. Sebring is magnitudes more difficult to complete. If you were to project Sebring out to 24 Hours, you would probably need a Baja Trophy truck to complete this race. The reason for the difficulty, is not because the track is technically superior, its because it is in such horrible condition. Uneven surface as the cars cross the different runways and taxiways.
Love both races, my point is that the author should not commit to print, facts that he obviously did not research. His ignorance came through like a 1000 watt light bulb.

Point of order, Audi has dominated 24hLM since 2000. Only the Bentley win in 2003 has interrupted their streak.

I will be in Sebring for the races but I am sure it will be airing on someone's TV somewhere down there. Worst case I will watch it when I get home. :)

Enjoy bud. I did the 24 hours of Daytona, hope to catch Sebring or the 6 hours at the Glen next year.
