Click above to watch video after the jump

If you own a Lamborghini Gallardo or a Ford GT for the sole purpose of being seen around town, it's a real shame. We fail to see why 500 hp is necessary to traverse traffic on the way to the country club, yet we know from experience that being seen in a supercar doesn't suck. Even still, the real fun is found when you're driving the machine... hard.

Back in February, a group of well-to-do car enthusiasts got together in Miami to appreciate their exotics for what they really are: fire-breathing track stars. Follow the jump to see a two-minute video of some of the world's best and fastest supercars as they take to airport runways. If you're a fan of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Corvettes, the Ford GT or the Saleen S7, you'll see something you love going very fast. Putting 40 or 50 exotics in one video is usually enough reason to get us to watch, but the sounds from the exhausts prompted us to take a second look.

hi guys, I'm the one who shot/cut the video. Regarding the mounts, I was using a 5lb camera and it was not safe for the driver or other cars to mount it to the outside of a car that hits 200mph so quickly. I know that NASCAR does this, but I'm just a dude and I refused to use a rig that wasn't tested/rated. For the incar stuff, the footage was too shaky to be usable above 120mph, but of course I didn't know that until I watched it on a bigger monitor. Needless to say, I'm making changes to my rigs and will do better at the next event :)

This was really just a for-fun kind of meetup and I cut together the video as a memory. I feel bad for not accurately portraying the outcomes of the races. The Saleen was ridiculously fast and once we got traction, we did catch up to within a carlength of the FGT. Also, the Saleen is not exactly meant for drag racing.

If you own a Lamborghini Gallardo or a Ford GT for the sole purpose of being seen around town------------that means you are part of the bailout crowd.

Was that a bank repossession station I saw at the end of that runway?

Would be nice if there was more actual racing, and engine noises. And the blonde flag girl could have a whole hour all to herself...but please...dump that awful Euro trash inspired tuneage. That alone was enough to ruin it for me. Leave the car sounds as priority next time. I need to go watch the hill climb video to flush my mind of it.

Luv the cars but why (in general) do Americans seem to always drive their fast cars in a straight line?
It looks sooo cool to see cars go around corners both left AND right.

      my 2 cents

That is the life. Right, gotta work harder and turn posters into real machines.

Props for anyone who puts in the effort to get to the track and push their cars legitimately and keep it off the streets.

Props for actually using supercars for what they were design for instead of a status symbol p3ni$ supplement.

I have no respect for someone who uses a car as an ego booster but I do respect anyone who gets out there and uses their car and has fun in the process.

Irrespective of the machinery used there is a difference between an enthusiast and a poser. As long as you are having fun and enjoying motoring with your fellow drivers you are a true enthusiast.

That being said - I didn't see anyone wearing helmets!? I can't believe the organizers would allow any driver to drag race without a helmet at least? Please tell me I'm wrong.

Next time a headline reads Exotic Runway Dancers, there had better be some friggin nudity.

Smashing video, but more so the epic song.
Can you name that tune, gentlemen?
        You got that right, D!
Perfect use of the dude's vocals and incorporating it at the mid points of the song.

The video most certainly has made my day.
