October 13th of last year is the on-sale date was the date you could begin ordering your 2010 Chevy Camaro, but not all the available options were nailed down at that time. The latest complete ordering guide for the new Camaro has found its way onto the web and should help you build a car to best suit your needs... as long as you need to write your name on a parking lot in cursive using the Camaro's rear tires as a pen. Some 40 pages long, the ordering guide reveals every standard feature and available option for the bow tie brand's new muscle car, including such items as a high-wing spoiler, Hurst short-throw shifter and cargo convenience net for the trunk... hey, you have to think practically some times.

While many will no doubt attempt to build the ultimate Camaro using this guide, perhaps an SS model with 21-inch aluminum wheels and the RS trim package, we're more than satisfied with a base LS model powered by a 300-hp, 3.6-liter V6 and sporting those to-die-for 18-inch steely wheels.       Am I missing something? You can't get a white Camaro? Isn't white the top car color in America?

        You can't get a white camaro untill midyear, The Paint facility at oshawa is shared between th camaro and impala and other assorted vehicles, GM doesnt think the White on the impala is bright enough for the camaro so they are waiting to finish the 09 impalas/othercars so they can change all the cars made there to a brighter white.

      If people bought muscle cars for their interiors then the LSX GTO would have been a smash hit - which it wasn't. People buy them for their iconic classic style and performance, two things the new Camaro has in spades.

      The pages of features is the result of direct feedback from the Camaro fanbase over the years and it appears they've delivered what their customers want. Just as they should. Just as Ford is doing with the Mustang fanbase.

      I've also seen the Genesis in person and it's nothing to get excited about on the inside and it definitely doesn't look very special on the outside. All the road tests show that both models are embarrassingly slow and don't handle exceptionally well to boot.

      If you like going slow in a big performance coupe and having a car that looks like everything else on the road then the Genesis is certainly for you.

        Sorry... I was referring to Subaru ruining exterior styling, not necessarily Chevrolet on the Camaro.

        But it does remind me of the Deuce Bigalow movie... "that is a huge...[car]"

      TriCycle, I never said the Hyundai interior was anything special, just that it was much better than the Camaros. I figured out your problem though, by reading your other comment here. I don't know how to break this to you, but just becasue you want the interior to look retro doesn't mean you can't use manufacturing techniques that are less than 40 years old. Consider this a PSA.

      Personally, if I'm buying an 25k car I don't want to be punished for it with crap materials and/or design. It's my car, they better focus on me, the driver. It doesn't look like GM did that in this case (hope I end up being wrong) and they will lose customers that want a good value and not just some overpriced nostalgia machine that middle-age people will buy just because it reminds them of their glory days in high school.

      Look, I can do smug and condecending too... though I can't reach your level of ignorance. Just because you want a car that you think gives you an image doesn't mean the rest of us are as insecure in our manhood. Maybe it'd be cheaper for you to just buy a leisure suit and some little blue pills?

      I respect the different tastes and opinions everybody has, but am I the only one who can't see what's to-die-for at all in those steelies ? I'm puzzled.

      I crawled all over both an LS and SS last weekend at the local auto show, and have to sa I'm VERY disappointed with the interiors. I went back to the Genesis Coupe right away to compare, and the Hyundai was vastly better. Hopefuly these were preproduction models, because I still love the styling, but I doubt the production models will be vastly better.

      There's still no substitute for test drives, but the interior could be a deal-breaker for me if all else is equal. If they took extra time to get the Camaro just right like I have heard, they really need a reboot on how they do interiors. It's not even that the plastics were harder or worse than the Hyundai, but the Camaro had rediculously large and rough texture, clumsy shapes and gaps and strange, sharp corners that distracted from the coolness of being in a new Camaro. IMHO, anyway.

      sam, that is by far one of the funniest comments I have ever read on Autoblog.

      I like Subarus and all but seriously, the interior is nice because they padded parts of it? Are you otherwise blind? Most Subaru interiors are anything but nice. Most of them are downright ugly. I've never heard anyone brag about the interior of their Subaru or say they bought their STi for the "soft touch" skin on the armrests. That's hilarious.

      I personally like the 1960s throwback design of the Camaro's interior and fits the theme of the rest of the car like the Mini does inside and out. Muscle cars are not about interiors, neither are Japanese rally cars or two-seat sports cars. None of these are the type of cars you buy if having the nicest interior trim to coddle your vagina is at the first thing you look for in a car.

        Boxerfanatic has a Legacy GT sedan. He didn't say anything about the STi's interior, as the WRX and STi (especially in the previous generation) really show the Impreza economical-car roots. The '05 Legacy was a big step forward for Subaru.

        I think the Malibu gave people reason to hope that the new Camaro would have a nicer interior. Perhaps GM just decided to give people what they were asking for, a new Camaro in the mold of the old... they've had crappy interiors as long as I can remember.

      Umm, October 13 was the start date of the pre-sales last year, not the on-sale date. The on-sale date is still sometime this spring.

      We shouldn't be surprised that they themed it after the '69. That's why it has that Challenger vibe to it, and why it comes in at 3800 lb. If they would've gone one year further back, maybe the designers could've worked harder and given it a slimmer package. Or maybe it would just be an even more-bloated '68.

      For my money, the Gen IV is a snarkier package. This one looks like they bowed to the critics saying we have to make it a box shape so it won't slice pedestrians off at the knees, but crush all their ribs instead.

      I'm surprised this is news, my coworker is picking his up in two weeks, already has photos of the specific car from the dealer (not sure if it's port or post production at the factory).
