Pics Aplenty: Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Stirling Moss
Introduced at the Detroit Auto Show this year, the Stirling Moss will be the very last iteration of the McLaren SLR line. Its striking lines seem to illicit a love-it-or-hate-it reaction, but no one can argue that Mercedes-Benz didn't come up with something unique as a send off to its flagship model. Not that you can buy one anyway – only 75 are planned for production and will only be offered to the most loyal of SLR customers. So what does 750,000 euros get you? In addition to the unique body and interior, each car comes with M-B's bread-and-butter supercharged V8 pumping out 650 horsepower plus the ability to go 200+ mph without so much as a windshield protecting you from bugs at triple digit speeds. Sounds like a pretty good deal to us. Still can't decide if the McLaren SLR Stirling Moss is your style? Mercedes-Benz just released 25 brand new photos, which have all been added to the high-res gallery below.

Stuff like this should have NSFW tags. :)

I would never, ever buy a car without a windshield.
And this is not biased because I love my Mercedes Benz.

Well, It does a phallic element to its design...
Perfect car for people with small...

200+ MPH with no wind shield means that you will have debris embedded in your face.
Or wear a helmet at all times.
Or not drive one.
Slowing down it not an option.

@ superman
If you can afford the car, you can afford a really sick pair of goggles to go with it.

superman-
Serious question......
I wonder if the aerodynamic properties cause the debris to shoot over the car?
A similar principle behind those bug deflectors that mount on the front of the hood.
ANYONE KNOW?

I had the privilege of seeing one of these bad boys in Detroit, and the fact it doesn't have a windshield is what makes it so different and cool. If you're dropping three quarters of a mil on this, you probably can figure out to get around such a minor inconvenience...

Over the top, tasteless pimpmobile, and completely out of its time. The sketches looked good, but that didn't translate in a nice product.

Totally agree - it looks ridiculous.

Wah! I criticized the silly looking supercar! Negative stars!

Hey it is a free country, you can criticize all you want we will take away stars from you all we want.

I love the car, just not the looks. I'm not sure what happened because the original renders looked amazing . . but of course the shading was more intense. Something about that paint . . it's like the paint they spray on plastic toys--really disappoints. With more pronounced angles, a darker graphite finish (which would change the name to Platinum Moss) and making all the grills a lighter metallic shade and this thing would look a lot more sharp and professional. for now it looks plasticky

You guys see big numbers, a bunch of swoopy bits, and a six figure price and think its the bee's knees. Its just all so silly - the automotive equivalent of a Big Mac.

I like this car. But in all honesty, I would feel like such a dork if I drove it anywhere but the track. It definitely does not pass the Kristin Scott Thomas test and would wind up on the far left of the Cool Wall.
Luckily, most of the people who will buy one are quirky 80 year old billionaires who wear funny hats. At least that is the only people I've seen driving SLR's here in Switzerland. I also imagine quite a few will get the gold plating treatment in Dubai.

I can't wait to see the SLS.

I have never seen an automobile that looked so much like a penis on wheels.
M-B has been there for awhile with its "F1-Inspired" snouts on the SLK and SLR. But this version of the SLR just takes the c*ck...err...cake.
