VIDEO: Lionel Regal provides your adrenaline rush of the day

Follow the jump to watch the video
Sorry, no date on this video, but what we do know is that it's of French hillclimber Lionel Regal attacking the Course de Côte at Mont Ventoux in his Mugen-Honda-powered Reynard F3000 car. He's obviously very comfortable behind the wheel, with championships in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 to show for it. It also occurs to us that Lionel Regal may well have been used to create the original casts for Truck Nutz. Follow the jump, watch, and you'll understand, too. A brief word of caution: Googling his name will keep you in front of your screen watching videos for quite a while...

there is a video of an R8 (racecar) doing a hill climb that makes this look like it was done in slow motion in foot hills.

The R8 video is certainly louder, but it isn't better.
You must not have watched the Lionel video all the way through.
Did you see his speed in the mid-section?
Not to mention the nearly dropping the wheel off 4/5ths through.
And the end is a classic!

Norma M20 powered by a BMW 3.0l M3 engine
for the Castellana Racing team at Gemenos hillclimbe in 2005

Yeah lol you beat me to it, that is no R8. Have you heard an R8? R8s are nowhere near that loud.
Jared 4:18PM (3/08/2009)
r8's don't have the little leuvors (flaps, w/e. I cant spell) in the front either.

I am pretty sure it was proved not to be an R8, but a Radical SR3.

Taking F3000 car to the hillclimb makes F1 look like a Playstation game and Indy like a game for the Commodere 64.

That thing has a powerband narrower than Lindsay Lohan's left arm.
Also, the "Deer!" comment only starts to scare you AFTER you watch the video.
It's also useful to note Lionel holds the track record for the 10.050 km long Course I at 3:47.156, and the top speed record is currently held by Bernard Chamberod at 156.63 km/h, which is not quite 100 mph. Seemed faster than that to me.
Scary stuff.
