VIDEO: Ford speaks Fusion in new ad campaign

2010 Ford Fusion - Click above to watch videos after the jump
Despite the recession, tumbling auto sales and an uncertain future, good cars are still being made. The 2010 Ford Fusion is one example. The Fusion Sport just spent a week in the Autoblog Garage and we're in the midst of reviewing the rest of the lineup, as well.
Whether it's from a domestic or import, good product needs to be talked about during these troubled times, because it's one thing that can get people back into show rooms and buying again. Ford has launched a new ad campaign to get people talking about the 2010 Fusion that kicks off with three commercials you may or may not have seen on TV yet. The "We Speak" commercials are fairly simple in execution, show a lot of the car and two out of the three spots hit home the message that the Fusion is the most fuel efficient mid-size vehicle sold in the U.S. You may say yay or nay on how effective the commercials will be, but we're talking about them, right? Follow the jump to view all three for yourself and let us know what you have to say in the comments.

Ford is the underdog of the auto industry that doesn't cease to surprise.
First, they have the ugliest, least fuel efficient, nothing-to-talk about line up. Ask me 5 years ago, and I'd say that Ford is bound to die first, followed by GM with Chrysler being the last.
Suddenly, Ford finds itself the only N. American automaker prepared for the slowdown and not in need of a bailout. Then it also surprises with nice vehicles.
Keep it coming!

I agree 100%. Seeing what's going to be arriving on the U.S. shores from Europe next year has improved my opinion of Ford cars. Only U.S. manufacturer with a global racing pedigree too. WRC, F1, Le Mans and NASCAR.
I've always recommend my friends against buying a car from the big 3 but I've stopped doing that with Ford. With exception to the Freestar.

When Chrylser came out with the 300C I was so in love with the bold styling, and they really should have seized that great vehicle and went on to make more great cars. However, they just stagnated whilst everyone else moved on from their previously uninspiring lineups. Ford, OTOH, have truly excelled lately, and when more Euro models and tech and refinement make it over the the US, things can only get better.

Anectodal evidence that it's working: the Ford stand at the Chicago auto show this year was jammed while many other exhibitors were empty.

The reason why the Fusion has been so popular is not for its Euro styling but its bold American accents. When I look at the Fusion I see the Ford Interceptor Concept starting to take shape. However the Fusion reminds me most of a 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Victoria. People often say that looks Euro, but if you ask them what is ment by that they're clueless.

Bravo! You are a truly open minded person that sees that Ford really does make great cars and trucks! Keep up the good work!
Might I recommend saying to folks "I used to only recommend imports but you need to check out what's in Ford's stable" ;)

The Sport model definitely has my attention.. A sedan with a V6, AWD, 6sp auto (too bad no manual though) drivetrain, not to mention enough tech options an intuitive Nav system and a rearview camera among other things. Pretty much approaching Acura, Infiniti, and Lexus territory on the options list. (now if only HIDs were an option) Still, for around $31K loaded this is a pretty kickass bargain.
This car has always been a good value, but there's always been some compromise with it too. Having seen the 2008 Fusion, I thought it was OK and the interior was good, but once I got my hands on a 2010 model at the auto show this year, I have to say Ford is not kidding around anymore. They've convinced me that they're serious about making competitive products. Much improved on the outside (better styling and tighter panel gaps) and although I think the interior needs a little more work, it's still better than the last version and honestly better than the Camry. Still behind the Accord and the Malibu though.
Ford has their work cut about for them, but it looks to me like they're playing for keeps. About frickin' time.

stupid typos.. Autoblog, please let us edit posts or at the very least delete 'em so we can post corrected versions....please?

That involves AOL paying some designers to overhaul the comment system. It will never happen unless we agree to a giant pop-up Apple ads glued to the ceiling above our beds.

@Kaptain75329: Letting us edit posts? For the starters it would be nice if all replies ended up where they're supposed to. This commenting system is bad joke. It sucks couple years and AB doesn't care. Asking post editing is way too optimistic. :(

Best Domestic automobile ads since the Malibu's almost 2 years ago. I saw one 1st Gen Fusion commercial in my entire life. I hope these will air frequently, because they made a really great car. It deserves the marketing...

Those Malibu commercials were something else. Whoever came up with those better have gotten a raise. That person was clearly someone in touch with not only GM's intended customer, but reality in general.
Smart people making smart ads for an intelligently executed, genuinely competitive (and long overdue) American sedan. And from GM no less. That was a fun surprise.. like finding $20 in the wash you didn't even know you had.

Please don't discredit the advertising industry. They were asked to do the impossible with the Malibu. That said if Fusion could talk it would say "I can't help the way I was designed"

Not too bad, they get their point across. I like the first one the best, showing the tree thingy in the dash is pretty neat.
