Citroen GT making jump from video game to production car?

Autocar has it on good authority – by that we mean Citroen's product chief Vincent Besson – that the GTbyCitroen concept unveiled at last year's Paris Motor Show and later made available as a playable car in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be headed to production. Besson says that the GT's popularity made the automaker ponder its viability as an actual product and now it's considering a limited run of up to 20 units. While he was tight-lipped on specs (probably because none of have been nailed down yet), Besson did intimate that the production GT would ditch its fictional hydrogen fuel cells for a V8 that could come from General Motors or Ford. We think the supercharged 5.4-liter that powered the Ford GT would do nicely; after all, they do share the same name.
