Spy Shots: Ferrari F450 prototype widened and scooped

The car codenamed F142 is going to be the Ferrari F450, successor to the current F430. Set on a modified F430 chassis with a wider front and rear track, the new car looks evolutionary but the changes aren't insubstantial. A 4.5-liter engine will be placed amidships, and its expected 500+ horsepower will need extra cooling. That means larger intakes, perhaps all around. In back, the exhaust could be routed through the large aperture in the diffuser. The car could be shown as early as this year's Frankfurt Auto Show, with the coupe going on sale as early as next year, with Scuderia and convertible versions following.[Source: Global Motors]

What's with the douchey driver flicking off the camera? Is he under the delusion that he's some sort of paparazi-chased celebrity? We don't care about you, chief. we're looking at the car. F Ferrari - they haven't made an attractive car in 10 years.

25% on bashing Ferrari's looks. While the F430 isn't the prettiest ever, the 599 is friggin awesome!

Apparently at Jaguar anyone caught by photographers in prototypes get punished, this might well be the case at Ferrari as well so he's probably angry he lost a month's bonus. :P
And this looks just like the F430, only slightly uglier.

Why on earth are all Ferraris so ugly now days... do people really thing the 430 is a good looking car or just say it is because its a Ferrari?
Just one more in a long list of ugly wind tunnel design from ferrari...

Also, most cars, Ferraris and Alfas especially, look a lot better in person than in pictures.

You, sir, should form your own opinion sometimes rather than take everything from Top Gear. Ferraris nowadays look curvaceous, sleek, lean and athletic, and whilst not instantly shocking and attractive like Lambos are, they do grow tremendously and when the looks are taken in the context of the vehicle's performance and lineage it is a truly epic creation.

Looks like they got a new engine, the intakes look to be on the top rather than the sides. And with the Lambo's putting out 560hp now, the new F430 should be a monster too.

I thought Ferrari was going to try lowering their fleet CO2 emissions starting with the F430 successor. I don't think that is the case anymore.

I know it is just a mule, but the mule looks like a Ferrari GT40, especially in the rear half of the side profile.

I don't think I've ever seen an "ugly" Ferrari like some of the people above are speaking of. Sure some Ferraris look worse than others, but I can't name a Ferrari that I wouldn't take the keys to if they were handed to me...

I've seen the California parked next to a beautiful Testarossa....THAT my friends is an ugly car. Seeing the two together, my god, it's like before and after pictures of some fat chick you see for nurtrisystem or something.
I like the F430, but the car lacks F1 music notes compared to the 360 and the FXX...well that's just insanity times a million. Trying to plug your ears with your fingers and take video at the same time is not an easy task when your right next to it.
