Firestarter: Scorpion Motorsports unveils Prodigy trike

Powered by a shrieking Hayabusa engine, the Scorpion Motorsports Prodigy is an elemental thrill ride in the same vein as the Ariel Atom. The Prodigy has but a single wheel out back, though up front, it's all about stability. Scorpion claims a reported 1.5g on the skidpad. While you can find vehicles on the used market, undoubtedly modified, that will click off 3.3-second runs to 60 mph, the $40,000 price tag of the Prodigy P6 seems like a pretty good deal for such a raw adrenaline-pumper.

I don't care what anyone says, anything with three wheels always makes me think of this:

Therefore I feel like I'm going to tip over, and I don't like it.

So basically a Hayabusa with an extra front wheel! I still prefer the Atom though, I want absolutely no bodywork on my superlight.

I still like the Campagna T-rex. Haven't seen a better design since in my opinion.

I wonder if it has a reverse gear. If it does, I want one... one day when I can afford to drop $40K on a toy.

That, is idiotic. Not only is it missing a rear wheel which brings with it all the fun of much earlier roll overs and massive, uncontrolled oversteer; they felt the need to put a front wing on it, compounding the problem. Fashion accessory.

Looks wicked up front, but for $40K they couldn't afford to put in a second rear wheel? Without four wheels the only way to tune handling balance is weight distribution and tire selection. Spending that kind of cash on a toy, I'd really want to have more tools (spring rate, swaybars) to tune the handling.
