Alfa Romeo teases MiTo GTA ahead of Geneva debut

Alfa Romeo has been pretty tight-lipped about the MiTo GTA in the lead-up to its unveiling at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, but in addition to a couple of engine sketches, it's finally released a full-on teaser of the new hot hatch. The styling continues to draw inspiration from the 8C Competizione, incorporating a few more elements of the supercar into the three-door's front fascia, and the revised stance and upgraded wheels give it a considerably more sporting appearance. With around 240 hp coming from the 1.8-liter turbocharged four, the MiTo GTA promises to offer a compelling alternative to the MINI Cooper JCW at a competitive price and with Alfa's trademark Italian flair. Stay tuned as Swiss time is running out before the doors open at the Geneva Palexpo next month.

And I even like the color. Probably will be just out of my budget though.

Alfas should look fierce and sporty, not cutesy like the Mini. The MiTo is just not fitting with Alfa Romeo's design language, and the front fascia looks tacked on and is just plain ugly.

Really? The old Alfa Sud from the 1970's hardly looked aggressive, yet was enormously popular and remained in production for almost two decades.

Just when I've resigned myself to wanting a 500 Cabrio, you guys start showing the Mito again and I'm hooked. Fifth Gear's head-to-head with the Mini in this last episode was entertaining enough, but lacking in details about the Alfa.

So no-one seems to have mentioned how damn hot this car looks yet?
It's cute?
It's adorable?
It's a quiet little car?
Come on, let's be honest... This is a Hot Hatch killer in a tight bikini, holding two guns, and saying "who wants to get a little dirty?".
This car is HOT.

I can't decide if I like this car or not, from this angle and in this color this car looks amazing; however, from other angles(and in red) the design looks very fussy.

This is a new family of engine, a direct injection of but i don't know if is the new multiair, probably the new multiair is for the C (new 149GTA) and D (159GTA) cars with 240-265 hp.
These are the mechanical spec of the other MiTo:
Engine 1.4 turbocharged 155 or 120 hp or diesel 1.3 90 hp or 1.6 120 hp
manual 6 speed gearbox or the new double clutch 6 speed gearbox.
Selector near the gear lever to change the car's responseaccording to driving conditions (drive setting of ASR and Electronic dynamic control, steering wheel style).
Electronic simulation of self-locking differential Q2.
Bluetooth and USB connections, tyres 16-17-18", 7 airbags.

Hmmm, I don't know. Something about the front of it makes me think of a puffer fish. Or, more specifically, this boy pretending to be a puffer fish (http://tinyurl.com/ddn7wk).
