Smashing idea: Hyundai giving away Superbowl ads soundtrack
How did you like Hyundai's Genesis Coupe ads during the Super Bowl? They rocked, right? With that hard-driving soundtrack from The Smashing Pumpkins, of course they rocked. The song is called "FOL," and it isn't available for purchase anywhere. But you can get it for free just by giving Hyundai your e-mail address. Click here to fill out the two-question (name and e-email) form, then click on download. Hit play, close your eyes and you'll be lapping the track with Billy Corgan any time you wish. Neat. Seems like a lot of companies are now contracting artists to do exclusive songs for them and then giving the songs away free for promotion. Geico also did something similar, recently releasing that techno song "Somebody's Watching Me" for free on their website.

Just wanted to let you know that the Geico song was not produced exclusively for them. That is an eighties song by Rockwell with Michael Jackson vocals. You must not be very old :)

Don't particularly appreciate being patronized. I am well aware the song was not created brand new for the commercial. The Geico commercial song is a remix by Mysto & Pizzi, and thus technically is "exclusive" seeing how the song was remixed particularly for the commercial. I apologize if I didn't make this clear in my original post.

The techno song "Somebody's Watching Me" you speak of is an uncreative knockoff of a 1984 single by Rockwell and Michael Jackson.

black cars generally do a good job hiding clear design 'issues' that are readily apparent in any other color.
this is a pretty well-known fact.
so using a pic of a completely blacked-out car as 'proof' of it looking good is a bit of a stretch. same car in blue or red or yellow would make the obvious design flaws much much much more obvious.
even a black Aztek doesn't look half bad.
