Formula for Disaster: Ferrari Hyabusa Trike on display in Tokyo

Click above to view more of the Ferrari Hyabusa trike
There have been countless attempts to translate the Ferrari spirit from four wheels to two, ranging from sport bikes to choppers and everything in between. But this is the first we've seen with three wheels. That's right, in case your eyes couldn't adjust from the endless see of crimson contours, what you're looking at is a Ferrari trike.
Mirroring the "styling" of a Scuderia Ferrari F1 car, this one-off trike was spotted at the banzai Tokyo Auto Salon by the same people who brought us the no-less-bonkers Lamborghini ATV. Based around a 1.3-liter Suzuki Hayabusa engine and frame, this (thankfully) unique example was built by Trike Japan in order to showcase what they can do. We certainly hope the rest of their portfolio is a bit more tasteful than this showpiece, but we won't be holding our breath. If you're feeling a little masochistic today, have a look in the gallery below and the pair of videos after the jump.

There's nothing scary about ABBA. It's just...
Petrifyingly humiliating.

It's ugly but I bet it'd be fun to ride.

This thing is crazy.... but I kinda want to go for a ride in it though... in a nice straight line. No corners, please.

I like how the second video gives us a glimpse into the Tokyo Auto Saron. I wourd rike to visit there one day, my serf.
I would rather have a hayabusa, or a Ferrari than a Ferraribusa trike. In/on either, you would get looks of awe. On a big red trike, you just look like a fool.

It would have been amazing if it were a regular busa donning the scuderia livery, but a trike? You gotta be kidding me.

You might encourage your headline & tags writer(s) to read the article a bit more carefully. It's Hayabusa, not Hyabusa.

Wow. It needs the rear wing to counter the huge amount of fail it must produce at high speeds.
And no, showing slides of the Ferrarabusa next to a normal trike does not improve its street cred.

I was staring at that pic for quite a while thinking 'how the hell did that person get in the trike?!' before i realized it was just a helmet on the seat!
