2009 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction preview
The time has come once again for the most renowned classic car auction of the year, and we will be in Scottsdale over the next several days to report live on the highlights from Barrett-Jackson. Despite the slow economy, this year's lineup of cars remains just as exciting as previous years due to offerings like the first retail versions of the 2010 Shelby GT500 and Chevy Camaro, the Hurst 50th Anniversary Dodge Viper, as well as plenty of high quality muscle cars, hot rods, and customs. GM will also be auctioning off quite a few cars from their Heritage Collection, many of which have been the top sellers over the first few days of the auction including an Oldsmobile Custom Touring Roadster that sold for $220,000 and a 1989 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 "Snake Skinner" that went for $176,000 on Wednesday. Check back over the next few days for important auction results and plenty of high-res photos of the cars. Until then you can browse through the gallery of teaser photos below.

Great place to see how much your collectible is really worth, also seen some very exotic vehicles go through here that I have never seen or even heard of before and finally I have seen some one offs or very, VERY low production numbers on some really Great vehicles go passed the Auctioneer!
I seen some vehicles go through here that I have NEVER seen before and probably never will again, but some people will spend over $1,000,000.-- and never bat an eye at what they just spent!!! Awesome place to get top dollar for your collectible, in a Heart Beat, I would Luv to own anyone of the vehicles that pass through this Auction!!!

Its probably one of the GM Heritage Collection cars - they weren't always special or top of the line, but uniformly perfectly original or restored.

Great timing for a "preview" -- the auction started three days ago.

I would love to have that black Trans Am! My friends and I would go crazy for those when we were kids.

As great as the Barrett-Jackson auction is, how about some Russo-Steele coverage as well? you can throw a rock from Barrett-Jackson to that auction, I was driving by it on the 101 the past few days and there are some nice cars there as well. Barrett-Jackson isn't the only game in Scottsdale this week/weekend.

People that buy at these auctions are only in it for the 15 minutes of fame.
They are all money and no brains.
