Spy Shots: Audi A7

Audi recently released sketches of upcoming product, and included was a slick drawing of the coming A7. That exact vehicle is plying the roads of Finland right now, and based on the few photos (and our non-existent Finnish) we can only hope that the rear of the car is buried in cladding. For the moment, it brings to mind words like "hunchback" and "what?" There is still time, and with the A5 still fresh in the design mind, we hope the A7 will come out better in the final flesh. If not, and if the home of the four rings keepw the next A8 closer to its line drawings, we will happily stick with that. Thanks for the tip, Misha.

Does anyone really need a step-up car between the A6 and the A8? Even if it's a "COUPE"

Yes we do. I see tons of CLS cars where I live, and I'm sick of it. the 4 door coupe needs more competition.

Yeah, I agree with Auari. There definitely needs to be some competition to the CLS. And I'm sure Audi's A7 will destroy it.

i'm sorry, even tho this heavily camoed hunk is not the best looking car, in its present state it is *still* better looking than the panamera. which isn't really saying much, i guess, but still...

A7 is based on the mechanics of A8. So its a big luxury sedan, like its direct competitor, the Mercedes-Benz CLS.
Wheter it'll be 4WD or not, the A7 will become available in 2010. Range of engines will probably be vast, as usual when it comes to Audi. And in order to be competitive when compared to e.g the CLS, engines are going to be powerful: 4,2-liter V8 FSI and even Audi's new V12 TDI should be expected..

Can't wait to see this one. I love the S5, R8, and new A4 - so this car should be gorgeous. Also can't wait for the new A6 and A8. Audi FTW!

This car looks confused. Why not just make it a true sedan or an all-out wagon? I vote for the wagon. Better looks (IMO) and more storage space.
