Rear of production Aston Martin Rapide shown

Click above for two larger renderings of the production Aston Martin Rapide
A few weeks ago we showed you what we believed to be the first official rendering of the upcoming Aston Martin Rapide four-door sports sedan. That image showed the front three-quarter view of this British beauty. We told you at the time that there was another image allegedly out there that was waiting for a January release. Well, Christmas has come early.
Today we bring you the rear three-quarter shot of this much-anticipated Porsche Panamera rival. This view shows the dramatic sweeping glass roof that carries right down into the rear glass. The tail looks a lot like that on the Vantage, but when you have family genes like those of Aston Martin, that's not a bad thing. We still expect that the Rapide will be powered by a tuned version of the corporate 6.0L V12 producing 500bhp and 420 lb-ft of torque. That should be more than enough to rapidly scoot the Rapide to an anticipated v-max of 180 mph. We can't wait to see it in the flesh.

I don't know what kind of wealthy moron would buy a hunchback Panamera over the sexy Rapide.

Unlike the Panamera, that thing is HOT!

If these are in the same price class as the panamera, Porsche might as well stop production now, re-assign the workers, close the factory, and shoot the design team. Just saying.

I like it a lot. Hopefully pricing will be more in line with the Mercedes CLS63 and Porche Panamera (significantly

What is it with this cutting off all my words after "significantly," it's really annoying?

Everybody else can just go home. This is near perfection. Still, I hope to see some aftermarket tuners using the full potential of that V12. And do I dare say it, I'd rather have this one than the Kleemann CLS CL219...

The front 3/4th view is still the best, like with all Astons, but the rear does nothing to take away from the exquisite beauty of the car.

4-door perfection with a V12 engine. All there is to be said.
Ecurie Ecosse blue for me, please, and a new Vantage V8 to match. :D

This and Lambos Estoque(yes it's proto) are something else surely compared to Panamera.
Any guesses how many times panamera will still sell over this? :(

Yes this is very good looking for sure. But why is this +1000 and the Panamera is -1000? Both have very long, sleek, low profiles. Both have 4 doors. Both look like longer versions of their 2-seat counterparts. The only big difference I see is the Porsche's more hatch-ish back end.
Can somebody explain this to me objectively without smart@$$ fanboy comments?
