Click above to watch video after the jump

No pandas were hurt during the making of this photograph. People either. Actually, the truth behind this image is even more bizarre. This is just one example of the Bosozoku craze in Japan. The pic (and the accompanying video posted after the jump) was swiped from a forum that specializes in this type of thing. It's not exactly a new trend, but one worth mentioning from time-to-time so we remember to be on the alert for this type of zany motorist if the Bosozoku craze ever crosses the pond.

Characterized by massively extended lip spoilers, double-wide fender flares and pipe-organ exhaust systems, Bosozoku cars look insane when you come across one parked on the streets of Japan. Well, imagine what it's like being engulfed in a swarm of them while driving down the highway. That's exactly what you'll experience in the video clip we've posted. Follow the jump to share the insanity.

It was pretty funny, but then the tiger furry costume was a bit... scary.

Those are the only exhaust notes in the world that my blender can hit...

They're actually trying to be silly/cartoonish, as opposed to ending up silly/cartoonish when trying not to be.

This is what happens when you have a pacifist constitution. These kids should be out doing something constructive, like conducting a military campaign in Manchuria, or Korea... oh wait..

What a waste of some nice cars.

I will never complain about how ridiculous "donks" are ever again.

Oh, who am I kidding, I'll NEVER stop complaining about "donks".

As has been said, at least they are having fun, and not taking themselves too seriously. I just hate to see nice old cars ruined like that.

yeah this is a strange style of cars, but the ones that aren't as extreme are pretty sweet. My friend has a bozo styled xb here in sunny socal, it's a crazy pink color that has been around the show circuts. I definitely a weird car craze, but can be pretty cool

I think its funny, and they know it crazy but it's all for fun I guess. They can come up with some interesting ideas over in Japan.

Was it just me, or was the Japanese version of "In the jungle, the mighty jungle" playing in the background?

I like the buses blowing by all of them.

Wow, that was a good laugh at least. Yes, lets put 10ft pipes on our cars...that's the way to go. That pink one must be a bitch at any speed bump.
        Not just speedbumps... overpasses too!

I have to agree with what has been echoed here a bit. These guys aren't "ricing out" their cars. They are making comedic statements and having a good time.
