VIDEO: French motorcycle cop training is not easy, but looks fun

Spend some time in France and you would naturally assume that the police are just as relaxed as the rest of society. However, have a look at the video after the jump and you'll see that it requires strenuous training to look so calm. French motorcycle gendarme training is part trials, part MotoGP, part Top Gun and part Bourne Identity, with a little synchronized military parade action thrown in for good measure. And we hear they keep their skills up by fielding teams in the Dakar Rally, just for good measure – since you never know where chasing down that lorry is going to take you. The one thing that would made have made this video better would be to see Jacques Clouseau knocking the Chief Inspector into the guard rail.

You forgot to add part "Police Academy." I was going to post about how awesomely studly the French are until I watched them getting stuck on a fallen trunk during the Enduro training. Obviously a biased video, although I saw at least one shot of "Polizei," not the same country your "Gendarmes" are from.

In europe you have to do all that, but in the US you just have to weigh over 225lbs to be a bike cop.

it's a promotional video for potential recruits it seems. They emphasize all the good stuff you'll be able to do if you get into the gendarmerie. They also show the cooperative effort with the German Polizei.

Imagine that kind of a test for every person with motorcycle and auto drivers license. Final result:80 percent of idiots of the road because they couldn't pass the test and much safer drivers on the road. Too bad this is US and idiots are in charge of this country! Don't hate, it's just my opinion.
