Pics Aplenty: Ford F-150 SVT Raptor at Baja 1000 like a pig in mud

We recently told you how the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor fared competing in the Baja 1000. The Blue Oval's new super duper off-roader finished third in the Class 8 division, which is impressive considering it was built for the lower level Stock Full class in which it couldn't compete this time because the production version is not yet for sale. We've gone for a ride in the Raptor through the deserts of Nevada, but after looking through the gallery below, our experience probably wasn't as much fun as piloting the truck through 631 miles of the Baja Desert. Clearly the Raptor's first foray into competitive motorsports involved spending a lot of time with all four wheels either off the ground or in water up to its lug nuts. Check out the gallery below for more action shots of the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor doing what it was designed for.

Beautiful truck, I had the opportunity to see the production version at the AZ international auto show recently.

I think Mullaly should have driven this truck to Washington

I don't really like the front end of the new F-150, but on the Raptor, with its wide body and special grill I think it looks terrific.

Show some real stock class trucks, not ones with modded front and rear bumpers because it didn't have a good approach and departure angles.
Please, nothing special about this truck.

Any truck, to be used off road needs good approach and departure angles, for example a Jeep, Range Rover or Hummer. What Ford has done here is basically made a new edition of their truck like the Lariat, King Ranch, etc. Ford really has no trail rated vehicles, wheres Jeep has plenty of non rated vehicles now. Not sure what makes it stock class, imho, a production vehicle should do it.
I hope the Raptor becomes a permanent vehicle in their lineup. I have been seriously considering this truck since I first saw it.

I finally got to see one at the Auto Show here and I love it. by far, my favorite of the F-150 range. if I can get it with the King Ranch interior, it would be heaven!

Offroading is really fun, if I could become a pro race driver it would be for offroad or trail racing and I would want to use something like this for Stock Class. Until then, my little Isuzu will do.

You can "become" if you want to!
Until then, every single day ask yourself "what did I do today to "become". If you constantly answer "nothing" then you know why!
And if you don't live in a country where "becoming" is an option. Step 1 is to get to a new country "LEGALLY" :)

This is the truck I would be driving when I visit my ranch in Mexico in a few years.

It would suck to be the third guy who's riding in the back seat. Why do they have three people in the vehicle?
