VIDEO: Digital drifters show off sideways skills in Forza Motorsport 2

Click above to watch the Project Blackjack team tandem drift in Forza 2
This particular blogger happened to be searching for any news on Forza Motorsport 3 (coming sometime in 2009!) when I came across this incredible video. It appears the art of drifting has entered the digital realm, and a group of digital racers named 'Project Blackjack" have put together an extensive video showcasing their talents. This is their seventh film entitled "The Rising Storm", compiled completely from Forza 2 footage, many times with with "camera cars" placed at certain location to capture the action. You can see tandem drifting on tracks like Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta and even the Nurburgring. As you can imagine, figuring out how to correctly film the drifting, getting two to five cars to make a good run together, and then finally compiling the footage took quite a while. You can read more about how they did it on the Forza 2 blog, and check out the video after the jump.

as skillful and cool-looking as it is, drifting still isn't the fastest way around any corner. it looks like jeremy clarkson is driving all of these cars.

I don't think any one will argue with you there, The point is that it is one of the most entertaining(at least to watch and probably to drive) ways 'round a corner.

dude: missing the point, aren't we? It's one thing to drift properly, and its another to drift in Forza, in tandem, multiple cars, with the camera angles.

That is pretty impressive. Seeing the brakes light up is awesome, I'm going to get Forza 2 right away

gt4's team FBI has better videos...and better drifting, but i have no idea how hard it is to drift in forza2, i've only drifted in gt4

of course drifting is not the fastest around a corner. The purpose of drifting is not finishing first.

The sliding into the parallel park spot trick was cool.
Pretty impressive.

To the level these guys drift in Forza 2 it is spectacular. The drift scene in the game is rampant with team battles and challenges. The liveries that they do in game is astounding whether they be for drift cars, race cars or fantasy liveries.
I like to race in the game but between the painting, tuning, auction house and organized events there is something for everyone who is a car nut. Loved the Forza franchise so far can't wait to see what they come up with for Forza 3.

did anyone notice? it looks like a video game. there is better drifting in GT. It just looks fake. you see a car motions in this game drifting and you know it is a game not only for te graphics.
i have to say also that when highway to the danger zone started playing my speakers started to spill cheddar cheese.
looks nice, but i think "gran dorifto" looks 10 times better.

While I agree with you that GT does LOOK better than FM, GT certainly does not PLAY better at all.
Forza is worlds ahead of Gran Turismo when it comes to replay value. It's just much more fun, and has so much more to offer than Gran Turismo. Not to mention that the online features are ALOT better for Forza than they are for Gran Turismo.
Don't get me wrong, I love Gran Turismo, I've been a huge fan of GT since the very beginning, it's the ONLY reason I bought a PS3. I used to criticize Forza 2 for it's inferior graphics, until I gave it a chance and actually played it, now I'm hooked!
The bottom line is, Forza has so much more to offer than Gran Turismo. So what if Forza doesn't have the "look" that GT has. When it comes to video games, graphics don't matter near as much as playability. Not to mention that XBL is worlds better than Playstation Network!

Forza maybe more fun to many people because it is a little more forgiving and arcady.
GT is a driving simulation and they strive for realism. Though they only focused on the driving simulation in the past, they are now adding crash damage.

Gran Turismo is no where close to being a simulation... Just drive a real car and you'll see what I'm talking about ;)
Forza is a step in the right direction but true simulation only exists on the good'ol PC.

most excellent. drifting in Forza isn't too hard with the right setup. drifting well and in tandem is extremely hard though. and some of the choreographed scenes where they were slicing through each other were great. as a Forza2 nut these guys are damn good and i love what they do.

Wow, those guys are good. It's pretty easy to drift in FM2 but to do it in tandem?!! that took skills and patience. GT4 drifting videos posted of youtube suck balls when compared to this. You might see better drifting from the GT series when GT5 came out, but until then this will be the standard.
