BMW Perfomance accessories goes live with new video

BMW Performance accessories is officially online with 32 upgrades Bimmer drivers, ranging from carbon fiber dress-up stuff to more serious bits like six-piston brakes with cross-drilled rotors or a carbon fiber suspension cross brace. Accessorizing BMW enthusiasts can also purchase form-fitting racing seats, a short-throw shifter, or even a steering wheel with an LED display that tracks lap times, acceleration, and top speed.
BMW is so excited (and wants you to be similarly excited) about its performance parts that it created a video to help inspire owners to pull out their wallets and do some shopping. Hit the jump to see it for yourself, and crank up the speakers in time to hear the exhaust note coming from BMW's new sport muffler. Thanks for the tip, Max!

Wait....
Are they doing this because Lexus started the F performance parts for their line up? I think so...i dont see any other reason why BMW would start this.

Well they will probably make alot of money as well...
BTW that is the nicest looking 135i I have ever seen. Normally I am against tacky stripes running down the side of vehicles, but I think the wheel, tint and stripe combination makes the car look alot better and less top heavy. Man this stuff is gonna be expensive.

I agree.
Knowing BMW they are going to charge you a arm and a child to get these parts.
BMW the Bimmer lover will dish out the cash anyway...BMW must make ALLOT off of their customers.

I'd pay for those seats and steering wheel, I'll pass on the rims, theyre nice but I'd rather get a set of BBS

I hope everyone knows to subtract 8-10 from all of these fuel estimates for all manufacturers. They are overstated by that much.

Autoblog.nl reviews a 125i with all the options, 72000 euros, or almost $90k. There are a lot of othercars i could get for $90K

The bit at the beginning with the fluorescent lights around the car reminded me of Top Gear heh.

Holy crap did Top Gear film this or something?

I think they realized that the aftermarket industry is HUGE and they want a piece of the pie.
expect mostly cosmetic and easy bolt on bits,
you'll never see them compete with TMS or Active Autowerke under the hood.

I looked through the list of parts on BMW's site.
Didn't see anything that adds hp.
Basically the only thing of any real value they are offering for the car is the brakes, and without more hp, even they may be a waste.

It just hit me as I was watching this and I hate to say this but... BMWs are ugly especially compared to the new gen Audi's.
Sad.

Hey I am a big BMW fan and got to sit in one for the first time at the LA Auto show, a BMW M3 sedan. The interior looks "boring", I wouldn't call it ugly but there is nothing that draws you into the car.
Now the Audi S5, another car which I got5 to sit in was really pretty inside. White with red leather, I wish I had taken pictures. But BMWs are one of the few sports coupes and sedans I can fit in because of my height, the S5 was a good fir inside but I would have to watch my head entering and exiting.
