LA 2008: Jerry Seinfeld's sublime Porsche 550 Spyder

Alongside the facelifted Cayman and Boxster, Porsche brought this gorgeous 1955 550 RS Spyder owned by none other than car nut Jerry Seinfeld. While we love the silver in which we usually see this car painted, the light blue really makes it stand out. The 550 Spyder holds a special place in the hearts of Porsche fans, giving the make its first overall win back in the 1956 Targa Florio. Just 70 examples were produced, making it one of the most valuable Porsches, as well. Power comes from a 1.5L air-cooled aluminum flat-4 producing 110 horsepower and 88.5 lb-ft torque. That might not sound like much, but the motor only had to push around a mere 1,213 lbs. Check out the gallery of high resolution photos below for more proof that Jerry Seinfeld has good taste in cars.

He must really like that colour....
Recently, he put up his 97 Turbo S for sale..... exact same colour.

At least Leno can drive any of his cars on the street...and often does.

Why do you say he never drives it? It's registered.

Fer cryin' out loud...this makes as much sense as collecting WWII beer bottles. Sure, it's a collector's item..that's all. Virtually undriveable due to it's cost...might as well hang it on the wall. Jerry should sell it back to Porsche and let it go in a museum.

Somehow I think Jerry can afford it.

Just pray that he doesn't ever let the valet sit in it.

That crooked emblem on the rear would drive me absolutely insane.

Completely agree.
I would see the car and think how beautifully conserved it is and how good it looks for being over 50 years old and then walk around it to see the rear emblem ruining it all.
Other then that, nice car and nice color.

I guess this is "nicer" than James Dean's one.
What a real classic though, beautiful.

I believe that is Riviera Blue - best car color ever.

That car was once driven without his knowledge for a feature story!
