2010 Ford Mustang revealed early on Ford's own website!

Everyone here at Autoblog has been patiently counting down the seconds until 12:01AM EST tonight when Ford's embargo lifts on the 2010 Mustang. At that time we can tell you all about the new 'Stang as well as share our official high-res images and live shots that we took when invited to see it behind closed doors last week. Well, thanks to Ford itself we don't have to wait that long to give you a full featured sneak peek. The Blue Oval has already updated its official micro-site for the 2010 Mustang with a few wallpaper images (see gallery below), a CG video and the pony car's official order form that gives up the entire goods on each model, their standard features and optional equipment. You can try out the car in different colors.
We're still going to wait until 12:01AM EST to release our mother load of Mustang content (at least for now), so come back at midnight to read all about the changes to America's favorite muscle car and view our high-res galleries. Thanks for the tip, Jason!

This looks way better than I expected it to. Considering that it's the exact same chassis as is current with only minor changes, it looks good. This is as different as Ford can make it with the same platform.

Looks like Ford ran out of money to make a new car so they stuck with the same car that looks like the car they designed 40+ years ago....very innovative.
But then again, no surprise given the base that likes it....

Overall, This is an improvement!
I can't wait to see what the tuned mustangs will be like-
I.E. Saleen, Roush, Shelby, etc.

Are they that cheap that they cant put a 6 speed instead of a 5 speed. Wow. its like corvettes and leaf springs. ancient technology

When the two are available and a 5 speed is chosen over the 6 (or in Mercedes case, 6 and 7), it's almost always because the 5 is stouter than the 6 (or 7). Not ancient. They just need to make stronger transmissions.

When you've got as much power and torque as the Mustang has, you don't need a 6th gear. As far as 5-speeds being "ancient technology", I guess the 5-speed Mercedes McLaren SLR is a relic, eh?

Hardly. The T56 6 speed is used in the Corvette, Viper, and older Cobra Mustangs. The darn thing is nearly indestructible. The newer TR6060 is even tougher. I think Ford is simply keeping costs down by keeping the T3650 5 speed. Same goes for keeping the solid axle - its cheaper.
As for the rest of the car, I think its really quite good looking. The retro seats are cool too. I think I'd wait for the EcoBoost motors to come online though. Nothing like a state of the art motor to contrast the slick retro looks.

You lost all your credibility when you called the leaf springs in a Corvette 'ancient technology'. Considering they're more expensive than a coil spring design (and you can put coilovers on a vette if you choose), I'd guess GM has a good reason for going with the expensive leaf springs. Why don't you do some research to figure out why before assuming they're the same kind of leaf springs used in older cars & pickups.

The corvette uses a transverse composite monoleaf, not the same as multiple metal leaves [which were designed to rub against each other a crude form of damping] on old wagons

They have the TR6060 sitting around.

The transverse mounted monoleaf is made of fiberglass and it retains it's tension through many more compressions than a steel spring. In other words, it's a better spring.

I meant the corvette spring. I don't know about the Mustang spring.

To the people responding, why is it that almost 99.9% of the best handling sports cars and ALL race cars run fully independent coil-over suspensions. I take it you done watch Top Gear...

WOW!!!11!!1! It looks just like a facelifted version of the current Mustang. I don't know how I'll be able to sleep tonight with all this excitement.
Does this mean we won't get any more of those daily teaser shots? What will we be able to read about on Autoblog? Oh yeah, the collapse of the US auto industry.

I like the styling of the V6 better. Why did they make the V6 look more like a GT than the GT? I'll wait till midnight for the pics to see if I hold my opinion.

I think.........I kinda like it. Very sleek looking, for a Mustang. The interior is hands-down bests the Camaro and Challenger, managing to retro without resorting to gimmicks.
