UPDATE: The cat's out of the bag, so
Click above for high-res pics of the 2010 Ford Mustang (plus the official order form)

Everyone here at Autoblog has been patiently counting down the seconds until 12:01AM EST tonight when Ford's embargo lifts on the 2010 Mustang. At that time we can tell you all about the new 'Stang as well as share our official high-res images and live shots that we took when invited to see it behind closed doors last week. Well, thanks to Ford itself we don't have to wait that long to give you a full featured sneak peek. The Blue Oval has already updated its official micro-site for the 2010 Mustang with a few wallpaper images (see gallery below), a CG video and the pony car's official order form that gives up the entire goods on each model, their standard features and optional equipment. You can try out the car in different colors.

We're still going to wait until 12:01AM EST to release our mother load of Mustang content (at least for now), so come back at midnight to read all about the changes to America's favorite muscle car and view our high-res galleries. Thanks for the tip, Jason!

WOW!!!11!!1! It looks just like a facelifted version of the current Mustang. I don't know how I'll be able to sleep tonight with all this excitement.

Does this mean we won't get any more of those daily teaser shots? What will we be able to read about on Autoblog? Oh yeah, the collapse of the US auto industry.

      Cool, a new Mustang!!!!

It means we'll get another 60 AB articles about limited edition Mustangs.

        WAY too much black plastic.

This is one car for which there is no real Japanese competitor.

I like it, it's a sharp looking car and the redesign has given it a more modern appearance without compromising on the car's classic style. One thing that disappoints me is seeing the return of the 210 hp 4.0 V6. It's a great engine for a ford Ranger, but considering the camaro has over 300 horsies and direct-injection, this car better at least have a lower price-tag.

This is a good evolutionary improvement from the MY05. Why do people complain that "it looks the same"??

The interior is fantastic and overall I think Ford did a pretty good job. It doesn't have to be a complete re-vamp every generation..

Will Knight Rider transform into this? Looks like a computer render...
well done. the interior by far is really nicely done. I am looking forward to seeing it in person. The back end isn't as nice as the rest of the car... something about the bumper? it will probably grow on me (unlike the Focus which hasn't). Overall, a good progression.

      yawn.

I look forward to beating them in my EX35 kid hauler.

Wait for the rain, unless you can get one of those EX37s
        • 6 Years Ago
...expect to be washing the rubber bits off of your kid hauler if you decide to run a GT.

The front end is an improvement over the current model, imho; fewer vertical lines and right angles. The diagonals give it a slightly more dynamic stance. The rest is kind of ho-hum, but, given the car's popularity and Ford's current financial situation, I think a mild restyling is all we can hope for.

The exterior is better certainly not shocking or aggressive. Its just "more attractive". I bet most people could not tell the difference.

I seriously looked at buying a convertible several years ago.

What bothered me about the original was the cheap interior and the fact that you could not get a fabric top for the convertible (the vinyl top looks incredibly cheap -- like a 1980's Fiat).

The price of the convertible seemed unreasonable to me as did the V-8 option and the handling was nothing short of boring. I can't judge these from the photos but it looks like Ford hasn't learned that lesson yet.

It looks... GOOD! I can't believe my eyes.

Why even bother with the V6, it an embarrassment.
