Click above for a gallery of the 2009 Nissan 370Z

InsideLine hosted a little soirée for Nissan/Datsun devotees to show off the 2009 Nissan 370Z ahead of its unveiling this Tuesday at the LA Auto Show, and the crew from StreetFire was on hand to provide some pics and a video of the reveal.

Beyond the trio of teasers and "leaked" images that found their way onto the Web this past week, these new shots finally give us a clear view of all the exterior styling details and a few shots of the thoroughly revised interior. The upkick in the door's edge that leads into the side windows is a particularly nice touch, as is the new steering wheel, revised instrument panel with integrated LCD and dual stitching on the leather dash.

More details and pics to come, so be sure to check back tonight for all the techy tidbits. In the meantime, check out the gallery below and the video after the jump.

I just hope it doesn't end up being too expensive.

Hmm...so I guess Ford isn't the only one bringing back "Grabber Blue" for 2010....

Every time I see this car, it looks better than the last. It is really quite gorgeous (and I tend to prefer American cars). It may well be the best design to ever come out of Japan. The line that flows from the top of the headlight, across the top of the fender, and forms the lower sill of the side windows is just perfect. It forms a powerful front fender that makes me think of some very muscular machinery from the 1960s and early 1970s (and one I expect to see on the Mustang being unveiled at the same LA show). The fender bulges are very well formed, and the new side window kink in the rear allows the fender to flow up into the C-pillar beautifully. The "mouth" is tasteful, even the mustache which won't show much in person anyway. I don't find the "fangs" too literal at all. Finally, the dropped center of the hood and roof bordered by sharp creases is delightfully aggressive. It looks great in red and that blue color!

If I could change a few things, they would be:

      1) Lose the cheesy looking external door handles. They seem like an afterthought.

      2) Add a bit of a bridge between the rear corners and the rear fenders to keep it from looking too bulbous back there. If it only went up to a certain height and then had a shelf atop it (kind of like a very integrated rear bumper) it would accentuate the rear flares with a nice highlight while making them look less overt.

      3) Get rid of the corner at the top of the A-pillar, there's enough going on at the back of the window already. It is related to the GT-R, but really the GT-R should be emulating the much more attractive Z.

      4) I give them credit for trying something new with the hockey-stick headlights/taillights, and this is the best execution so far, but it still looks like they couldn't decide to make them horizontal or vertical. My eye doesn't know which way to go. They still need to be simplified down a lot. Definitely horizontal at the rear, maybe an altogether more solid shape in the front.

      5) The silver/gray buttons set in similar plastic on the edges of the gauges need to go. Same thing with the ones near the shifter. The rest of the interior looks pretty nice, except the base model's stereo seems to be from 1991. The orange lighting doesn't help either. That optional alcantara looks very nice though. The extra trunk space in a smaller car is having your cake and eating it too.

If this thing is decently light, I'd consider buying one. The 350Z tended to weigh almost 3500 Lbs. with options and the 'vert was even more than that. It would be sweet if the 370Z came in at 3000 Lbs., but I know, realistically, it will probably be something closer to 3200 Lbs.

Take you finger and cover up the lower 'jag' of the headlights so it's just a narrow vertical slash. It's much cleaner and works. The lower 'jag' is just an unnecessary, cluttering, distracting element that should have been left in concept phase.

UGLY! Very Ugly! I can't stand that roof line!!!!
      yeow...that front is...wow...
Haha... The front end reminds me of Cars (pixar movie). I'm not the only one am I?
The cheap one looks horrible inside ... wow i hate base models !
I think it will look pretty good in black because the ugly front "teeth" will disappear.
it would be funny if somebody painted those "teeth" white though. I kinda like them, explicit agressive detail, and the rest looks awesome, much better looking now that it´s shorter.

From the same event, parked next to an older Z car.

The rear fender shape is great. The door handles still suck. The car is about 100 lbs lighter than the old car. Going in the right direction.

That blue is amazing ... wow
I'll keep my mouth shut until I see one in person (Preferably a white or dark grey one). Some cars really do look a LOT better in person, I hope this is one of those cars.

I really like the new 370Z, it reminds me of the S30's. I also really like the headlights, yeah they're different but I think they work. This is going to be one badass car, and I hope I can afford one once I graduate!
