Click above for a high resolution gallery of the Ferrari F430 Challenge

So you have a dilemma. You've got an itch for racing sports cars and cash to burn. Taking on Porsches and Ferraris in the GT2 category sounds fun, but the competition is pretty stiff and a spec series with a level playing field sounds more appealing. What are your options? If Porsches are your thing you might want to try the Porsche Supercup, featuring the 911 GT3 Cup, that runs in support of Formula 1. Rather go Italian? You can race an F430 in the Ferrari Challenge in North American, European, and Italian series, or try your hand in the brand new Lamborghini Super Trofeo series racing the Gallardo. American muscle more your style? You can race the FR500S Mustang in the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge at eight of America's best race tracks. We think each of them sounds like a ton of fun, but tell us which one you would pick in the poll below.

I did the ferrari driving experience in mt tremblant, and nothing is better, they may not be quite as potent as the racing version, but it is somewhat similar

      Late 1980s Group A.

But today? Either Porsche or Lamborghini. With my budget? SCCA club.

Porsche Super Cup is the only professional series listed here. All the others are for amateur gentleman racers who can't race in a pro series.

      None of the above.

I want to race in the WRC. Give me 300 HP turbocharged (with anti-lag), AWD compact coupe or sedan and let me loose on closed public roads that are asphalt, gravel, or snow.

WRC drivers are with out a doubt the most skilled drivers on the face of the earth. Period. You have to be insane to do what they can easily do. Who can't forget Colin MaCrae rolling his Subaru off a jump, landing on all fours and without skipping a beat driving onto the finish line at the X games.

WRC IS IT! I concur w/u! wrote eariler theres no other racing that goes -road-dirt- water-hills-unmarked turns-potholes & doing it in all-wheel drive less than 3000lb w/ over 5oobhp oil-burner- sideways! NOT the same circle over & over again! I've seen Porsche's-Ferrari's in this group, but I'd rather have Subaru turbo-diesel or even more Audi mid-ship over 500 bhp diesel!

I'd go for the IRL or NASCAR more then likely. They ARE spec series.

^^^ how genius and constructive of you

ahhh ok. I read a little bit more into it since I have not been forced to study grammar since elementary school really. "Than" is to be used for comparisons so I believe I was not incorrect..

The dictionary, or just about any English teacher/textbook.

Writing this makes me a bastard, but what the hell........

Clue #1 you are a NASCAR fan:
You think "than" and "then" are interchangeable.

A Chance to race a Ferrari....

      That Ferrari exhaust note.....

Id go for the TDI Cup, but since its not on here I went with 911 GT3 cup. It runs in conjunction with F1, so who wouldn't want the oppertunity to ask lewis hamilton what you did wrong? and it offers the quickest way to get into other motorsports on the grandest scale

Of those listed Porsche because they have the most competition.

Not listed is the Viper Racing League which would be my preference because with the exception of ABS the Viper has zero electronic nannies and a standard H-pattern bolted straight to the tranny. Best driver wins - period.

I saw one of those races yesterday...a guy with the gallardo spun his twice, i think the murcielago won. but the amazing one is an OLD OLD morgan aero...thats fast as heck if that were on the poll it would have won
      • 6 Years Ago
Sorry but I picked the Mustang. The best exhaust note IMO. And if we were going just by handling, then remember, its a spec series, its the same for everybody.

IndyCar counts, right? If it doesn't, explain why...
