Ford may launch employee pricing as soon as next week

Throughout that period, General Motors will be running its annual year-end Red Tag Sales Event, so the two biggest domestic automakers will be battling it out for

The last round of these didn't save anyone $5 over what they could get the car for anyway if they had access to the internet. I wonder if the increase in sales balanced out the following month anyway?

Yeah it does balance out. GM had better sales in August and September but had a worse October. Gimmicks don't sell cars people and workmanship sell cars

How about calling the program "Buy now or Pay Later" or "You're Paying for it Anyways"
America! Now is a great time to buy a Ford car, Truck or SUV. Why? Because We have a blank check from your Congress and if you act now that check could be large or colossal. You're in the driver's Seat America! Act Now!

I'm just wondering what they will call it when times get so desperate they need to go below employee pricing? Please-take-our-cars-away-rebate?

That's really catchy. Can Saab and Volvo be far behind?

Sorry Tim I don't follow you...?

I would love to buy a Ford Edge right now but I can't trade my Mustang in without taking a huge hit. The reason for that hit is because a NEW Mustang is dirt cheap with all the rebates that Ford has going.

Does this apply to Volvo? Otherwise Ford sells nothing I'm interested in.

Ford is just being desperate. They'll have to do a LOT better than employee pricing to sell their junk.
Their $200K per year Wharton MBA's need to 'splain to the suits the difference between maximizing profit and minimizing loss.
Clearly, the Blue Oval should be in the latter camp.

Actually, employee pricing often nets less loss than large rebates. And right now, everyone is running large rebates.
Ford's not going to lose any additional money here. They'll lose the same amount everyone else is and may actually help their dealers clear out a bit before Q1 really starts sucking.

@TigerMil
"junk"? I think not friend! Ford products meet or beat both Toyota and Honda in quality! They're kicking azz and taking names in all aspects! You just need to open your eyes and drop the bias!

I love Ford cars, I get a new one every year in April. I just ordered a 2010 last week and I should be getting it in April. Right now I am in a Ford Taurus Limited and the quality is excellent. I also own a BMW 335i and I out many more miles on the Taurus.

Howsabout a Shelby for $35k out the door? That would probably get me into some sleezy sales guy's office pretty quick.
Yay I can buy an Edge at employee pricing...no thanks.
