click for more of the Bradley GT

In mid-October, we wrote about San Antonio, Texas high school student Luke Laborde, who converted an old Bradley GT II kit car to run on electric power. I had been meaning to write a follow-up post on Laborde's work because a local TV station just did a report on his DIY project. But now we find that another 100 percent electric 1970 VW Bradley GT kitcar has popped up in Texas, this one in Dickinson, just over 200 miles from San Antonio. At first I thought these might be the same car, but comparing the one in the gallery to the one in the video shows that they're not. How many homebrew Bradley GT EVs are there in Texas? In any case, if you don't want to spent the time and $18,000 (or $12,000, depending on the source) that Laborde said it took him to buy and convert his GT, you can pick up the one on eBay for $12,000. Thanks to Benjamin J. for the tip!
