Rendered Speculation: Acura X6 fighter

At first we couldn't understand why the BMW X6 was birthed, and then we couldn't figure out why Acura of all companies needed to create something to compete with it. Top Speed has rendered unto us what such an enigma might look like, and, well, it ain't all bad. That's probably because it looks like an MDX with a descending roofline out back. Of course, it's impossible to know how much of any rendering is pure fiction, but The Majestic Shield of Acura matched with those lights and a proper amount of real estate could be the ideal pairing of design features and suitable canvas. Porsche's floating LEDs in the front bumper don't go astray, either. We still can't say it makes sense, but Acura, if you're really going to do this, have a look here first.

I think Acura has always done a great job on the vehicles they produce. I would like to test drive this on out, Looks like a lot of fun

Dare I say that I like this. Considering that I despise the X6, that's a feat. It's doubtful that it will actually look like this, but hey, there's some small hope.

Subaru has been selling Outback Sedans for some time now, and while a bit of an oddity theres a underlying virtue to the idea. I wonder why BMW and now Acura feel the need to take a solid idea and bloat it.
The X6 could easily be 1000lbs lighter and more interesting as a result. I hope Acura can find some common sense before they drop a 5000+ lbs brick on the driving public.

Its really sad how the japanese allowed the american honda division take over their designs completely.
The original problem was that Japanese design just didn't fit the American citizen because they finally found out in the 2000s that Americans were much fatter than them. So instead of having some form of 'fusion' in design and function, they decided to allow their American leg turn the Honda name into an American brand, following the Detroit direction. They completely forgot why people bought into Hondas to begin with. Yes, it was the quality over the Domestics, but it was also the appeal of the design and value.
Now the whole Honda line looks like a bloated pig pen, and the whole Acura line is just hideous (sans MDX only because SUVs cant really be made to look beautiful... well, maybe the X5, but thats about it).

Absolutely ghastly.
Acura is on a fast slide to nowhereville. It all started when they canceled the RSX, a perfectly good sports coupe just coming into its own in 2006. Everything since then has been a disaster.

I agree. I was thinking the same exact thing. What is the point of spending all this money and time into such a stupid vehicle. At least BMW has convertible and coupes in its line-up, and a TRUE fulls-size sedan. Acura doesn't even have something to compete with the S-class or 7-series like Lexus has the LS. Acura doesn't even make a coupe anymore!!!
That's rediculous if you ask me. Acura, please, don't waste any money on this, build the next generation RSX, PLEASE!!!

Way to go Acura, create a competitor to an ugly BMW that is not selling well. Are they just grafting the back end of the new Insight to the front half of an MDX?

This is obviously either a chopped X6 (with Acura front) or a raised, hatch-backed TL.

I've thought it was a raised TL from the beginning... maybe they'll call it the SLX... seeing as they already have patent or copyright or whatever on that name...
