After a year of renderings, rumors and spy shots, Nissan finally provided an official glimpse of the new 370Z. Unfortunately, the only images released were a few computer-generated stills and a handful of screen captures from the next Need for Speed game. Now, we've gotten our hands on the first live pics of the Nissan 370Z, captured at an undisclosed event ahead of its reveal at the LA Auto Show later this month.

While the CG images give us a general idea of the shapes employed on the new Z, it's not until you lay eyes on a few live shots (or better yet, see it in person) to let the details sink in. The new head and taillight treatments are sure to be divisive, but the new 3.7-liter V6 – rumored to put out around 330 hp – can't be argued with. Thanks for the tip, Matt!

The car looks great. It looks like they tightened up the last design and infused more of classic Z look. Gave her some DDs with those curves. Wheels are hot too.

The boomerang heads and huge boomerang taillights totally ruin it. That is a dealbreaker.

What's with the tangle of curves from the A-pillar down to the front wheel well? Why are the wheel arches tubbed out and then chopped off? What's going on with the grille, why mess with the simple FMIC hole (yes I realize it has no FMIC) that distinguished the EVO IV, 350Z and the Supra and made them look like Japanese performance cars?

      Not good.

While I always thought that the renderings looked kinda off, now that I see it in real life... God it's ugly, no offense but it looks like a porsche rear end was mashed with an altima... It looks unbalanced. Nissan, you really dropped the ball on that one...

      It's SPAWN!

The wheels don't seem to fit the wheel arches. Either it needs bigger wheels or it needs to ride lower.

Like other's have said, I will need to see it in person.

Wow...that's quite intimidating style, almost like a snake. Can't wait to see it on the track.

I think the complicated/ odd head lights is the biggest negative of the car, the rest looks pretty good.
