VIDEO: Nissan 370Z in Need for Speed: Undercover

Click above to watch video after the jump
We can't remember the last time, if ever, a video game made us really want to check out a car, but we have to see the new Nissan 370Z now. In the Need for Speed: Undercover teaser video it looked neat, but in the official shots a few days later the car looked like it was suffering from bloating and cramps. For some reason, however, the Z in motion -- and with, of course, perfect lighting -- does it for us. The perhaps overly teased front and rear lights make a certain sense now, but the truncated rear end still gives us pause. We're not yet settled on how we feel about it, but we can't wait to see it in person. Check it out video of the 370Z in Need for Speed: Undercover for yourself after the jump, and stay tuned for live coverage from the LA Auto Show.

You know Jonathon, if you will post Video Game trailers in here you may as well put something interesting, how about Spore? Or Call of Duty?
This video is a trailer.........as you know ACTUAL video game does not look like a trailer, cars in the game will look much poorer. Next time if you want to post a video of this sort post a GAME PLAY video, not an official Trailer.

I'm not so sure the post was really about the game, seems more about giving us a revealing look at what the 370 is likely going to look like.
With that said, a crappy car for a crappy game.
I'm sure it will be underpowered and overpriced compared to the competition.

@Gabagool, he was talking about the car, not about the game, so why that comment?Pointless...
cheezwiz 1:21PM (10/30/2008)
...yeah, because 350HP is underpowered for a car that size.
That should make it better at accelerating than an M-Coupe.

jcar, how do you know so much about a game you never played? Personally, I can't wait to try it. The graphics look promising, and I heard they re-did the entire damage model and physics engine.

@ Niels, i was really disappointed in NFS: Carbon, that game was just horrible. On the other hand older NFS Hot Pursuit 2 was great. I hope this new one is NOT like Carbon at all.

Why would you want a longer butt on this car? The design is obviously not for everyone, but it is balanced and very distinctive. IMHO, it is a better evolution from one generation to another, than say the Audi TT, which went more conservative with its second go-round.

can't wait to see this bad boy in person, should be exciting along with the IS350 coupe. Perhaps we'll see it at LA Autoshow?

I read yesterday that Chrysler is out of LA Autoshow entirely.

Who gives a damn about Chrysler. Has nothing to do with what he said or this blog article.
Yes, the Z will be in LA. Been reported to be so all over the place for over 3 months.
imirk 3:26PM (10/30/2008)
WTF? Chrysler, makes neither of those cars, btw nice lighting effects on the video
Gomi 1:04PM (10/30/2008)
The car looks great. It's a little more curvaceous in a subtle way and looks a little more compact than the previous.

ANYWAY...When can we download this car in GT5. Like, you know, in a GOOD driving game?

Crappy car? Underpowered? Over-priced? The Z has never been any of those things. It has trumped higher-priced competition in performance and styling since its reintroduction in 2003. Rumor has it that it will have around 330+ hp and be lighter than the previous version...More than BMW, Audi, and Porche. For probably a entry price around $30k, at least $10k less than the competition. Yeah, who wants that?

Seriously...who the hell wants a Datsun.
Just kidding. Not a fan of the new Z cars, but they definitely pack a punch for their price.
Sid 2:51PM (10/30/2008)
Agreed with JC. In fact, just like the RX-8, the 350Z was also a car to be seen in, not just bought for its price value or whatever.
Jake 8:55PM (10/30/2008)
I'd never want to be seen in an RX8. Maybe a twin turbo RX7 3rd gen... definitely not this round though.

Not the most flattering video for 370z, in fact its down right terrible. I know its found on you tube but its washed out (perfect lightin; get real....) and over contrasted in typical NFS way.
Need to see it in person

If I said it once, I've said it a million times. Anybody who buys this over Midnight Club: Los Angeles is terminally retarded. That is all.

Far better than the bland lump that was the 350z.
