Bottom 10: Worst James Bond cars ever

Being somewhat of a national treasure, the James Bond image is understandably important to the Brits. It can really boost public morale to have Bond associate with the most beautiful women in the world, use the most incredible gadgets, and drive the world's finest cars. It can be equally devastating, then, to have Bond engaging in any of these activities with anything less than the best. So it comes as little surprise that Channel 4 has called out the Bond creators for some of their awful vehicular choices. They've assembled a Bottom 10, if you will, of bad cars that Bond has been forced to drive or co-pilot on the silver screen. The list includes everything from a Tuk Tuk to an Aston Martin DBS, but probably not the one you're thinking of. It's a fun read with a pretty spot-on analysis of the merits of each selection, but we're pretty sure some of the choices will be debated. Do you disagree with any of the selections? Think they're nuts for skipping something? Let us know.

Good List. You're right- they all did suck, although I must add the Alfa GTV. Ugliest car to roam the earth wild.

Ugliest eh? I'll grant you that it's not pretty, but I think this is worse...

@ Geeky1,
Considering what most limo outfits in the U.S. convert these days, I take the S50 any day (and I hate being in limos)

This seems less "worst (actual) car" and more like "worst use of a car in a Bond Film" They didn't seem down on the Mondeo (which even my friends were asking why it wasn't over here instead of the Fusion), just that it was pretty poor product placement.

We all thought the Z3 was cool when it came out, so I'm not sure this is fair.

Fair enough, I think I was more disappointed that he didn't get to shoot missiles out the headlights like Q said he could.
And on another BMW note, I thought the 7 was pretty badass in TND, even though the chase scene was pretty ridiculous.

The Chase scene was pure awesome. It was what hooked me to bond films in the first place.
Fooman 3:07PM (10/28/2008)
Was a Z3 in the movie.. It was a z8...
TyWright 3:44PM (10/28/2008)
No dude. Z3 was in the first Brosnan Bond film. Z8 was later on....

There's nothing wrong with the Mondeo and Hornet. Both cool cars. the Renault and Tuk-Tuk, However, um,well, perhaps someone didn't shake his martini enough. Maybe too drunk to possibly stir it, too.

That 7-series (e38?) has always been one of my favorite cars ever!! Especially with those wheels!
Just because they didn't like the product-placement or the over-the-top chase scene it was involved in doesn't mean it deserves to be lumped with the worst 10 cars! :P

Ditto! The 7-series has no business on this list.. it's a great car!

Plus it was a 750 (V12), wasn't it? And it had missiles and drove by remote control. That was a great scene.
Re: the Z3, that thing was and still is beautiful. I was disappointed that it didn't shoot missiles or get in a car chase, but there's no denying the beauty. I still want one because of 007.

I might be mistaken, but I vaguely remember a late 80s Ford Thunderbird in one with the Dalton Bond. Not very Bond-ish...

License to Kill.....eh, it was a rental IIRC.
M-D 10:02PM (10/27/2008)
Bond didn't have much luck with rentals in the USA - he was also saddled with a Ford in "A View to a Kill" - it was either a Crown Vic or a 1st generation Taurus...

What the hell is the big BMW doing on the list. As much as I like "Jimbo" in an Aston, A 750i is a fine choice, no matter what flag you kill under. And the AMC? Had one, it was just downright awful. Didn't impress anyone with it. In fact took some hard lumps after trading in the Cordoba(no corinthian leather) for the damn thing.

Yeah, I don't know about this list. The 750 in Tomorrow Never Dies was a nice car, and it was one of my favorite chase sequences in any bond movie. And it wouldn't have been possible without a back seat.
And the Z3? That is a nice car. Even the Mondeo is not bad to look at.
