Oh dear. E! is reporting that the Peacock has ordered up nine more episodes of Knight Rider, meaning that NBC has locked in the show for a full season, and thanks to our inexplicably popular Knight Rider Liveblog, my Wednesday nights are effectively booked between 8 and 9 PM Eastern for the foreseeable future. The show's viewership grew last week by 900,000 and it's doing well with crap-tolerant males in the 18-34 and 18-49 demos, so this isn't all that surprising. Imagine what the numbers would be like if the show were actually any good...

Anyway, see you during Wednesday night's liveblog (and, it seems, a bunch more after that).

I happen to like the show as well as the '80s version. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't advance civilization, but it does give me an hour away from life in general. After all, television is entertainment, and cheap entertainment at that. I realize the acting is bad, and the stories are predictable, but it's better than ANY reality program on network tv.

Thank you gary I also enjoy this show as well, and just like you said it is not the best thing in the world but it sure beats all the reality tv on these days.

Pieces of utter garbage like this get full seasons and increased viewers... yet excellent shows like Scrubs and Terminator : SCC grasp for life.

      *sigh*

At least Alex knows his job as Knight Rider blog specialist is secure for the rest of this miserable season.

Terminator: SCC owns this show, yet more people watch this pew pew.

I am sick and tired of this site bashing the new knight rider. This show is tons better with the special effects then the original show ever was. I am 37 years old and watched the original when it was new and in reruns too. I think you need to get off your high horse and stop bashing the show. YOu are also upset that KITT is A FORD MUSTANG and not a Camaro or TransAM. I take it that you are a GM guy and hate FORD with every ounce of your body and must think ford is like hitler.

I'm in the same boat as Alex. I grew up watching the original. I also own an SN95 Mustang GTS and 2006 GTO. This new KR is VERY disappointing and I cringe whenever I see advertisements for it.

KITT speaks through a crystal ball, for crying out loud!

YES! YES! YES! FINALLY some good news! Something to look forward to! Thank you NBC! I don't care what nobody says, this show is awesome! The people ragging on this great show think garbage like scrubs and sarah conner chronicles are "good"? LMFAO! Those shows are TRASH! They are trash just like those awful reality programs and dance shows, ugh! KR is the best show on tv! A little imformation. I like Mustangs, but have always preferred the GM F Bodies, I owned a 1987 Trans Am, I own a Camaro, and I was horrified when I found out that the new KITT was going to be a Mustang! However, upon seeing the ultra cool first episode (I missed the pilot movie) it won me over with it's ultra coolness! I now have no issue with KITT version II being a Stang! Thank you NBC for keeping my show!

NBC's new slogan: Make Mine Mediocre!

Though NBC has a lot of good shows. They don't have enough programming to fill an entire week of PrimeTime TV spots. Therefore, we get hour-long shows every week that should just be 30min programs. They'll try to stretch their reality show's programming too in an attempt to add drama and take up as much time as possible.

The original was almost exactly the same as this one, weak acting, storyline, laughable special effects, etc. It ran for 4 years!
        Those are my exact thoughts...

When I was young, I watched some serious BS and loved it. Try watching something you thought was amazing now, nausea inducing!

In contrast to the above postings, I actually enjoy the show. I'm 22 years old, and watch it online the day after the new episode comes out. I remember watching the re-runs (I was born the last year of its run). But one thing...I don't watch it thinking the acting is going to be world-class type acting. It's just like the original...cheesy lines, but the have a fast car that has a lot of gadgets and they blow a lot of stuff up. Lol. I guess I just realize what the show is and like it for what it is.

I wonder how much money Ford is wasting to keep this garbage on the air.
are you kidding me? a TV show that has what.. fast cars, techno gadgets(transforming car, nano stuff, and technobabble) and hot women?

it suprises you that the demographic in question doesn't enjoy the show?

Sure the show is silly, but then again so was the Dukes of Hazard.. or the original knight rider for that matter.

I just find it amazing that the success of something like this in the world filled with reality tv shows and American Idol comes as a surprise to anyone.
