Knight Rider gets picked up for full season
Oh dear. E! is reporting that the Peacock has ordered up nine more episodes of Knight Rider, meaning that NBC has locked in the show for a full season, and thanks to our inexplicably popular Knight Rider Liveblog, my Wednesday nights are effectively booked between 8 and 9 PM Eastern for the foreseeable future. The show's viewership grew last week by 900,000 and it's doing well with crap-tolerant males in the 18-34 and 18-49 demos, so this isn't all that surprising. Imagine what the numbers would be like if the show were actually any good...
Anyway, see you during Wednesday night's liveblog (and, it seems, a bunch more after that).

Ford threatened to pull all advertising from NBC if they canceled the show.

The original was almost exactly the same as this one, weak acting, storyline, laughable special effects, etc. It ran for 4 years!

Those are my exact thoughts...
When I was young, I watched some serious BS and loved it. Try watching something you thought was amazing now, nausea inducing!

Pieces of utter garbage like this get full seasons and increased viewers... yet excellent shows like Scrubs and Terminator : SCC grasp for life.

Add Friday Night Lights to that list as well. And the longer Knight Rider stays on TV the longer we will have to wait for US Top Gear.

Terminator is better then KR, but admittedly it does have some serious termination flaws.

Honestly, Scrubs should have ended seasons ago... like the writers, directors, producers, and actors had planned. I'm not looking forward to ABC minus the main characters.

I was so excited for the first episode to air... Then I watched it. OMFG, it was terrible. The intro was cool though.
I was a kid and was a Knight Rider fan back in the day, and I can't stand to watch this crap show. If I was a fan then and hate this new show, WHO THE HELL IS WATCHING THIS NEW SHOW???

I happen to like the show as well as the '80s version. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't advance civilization, but it does give me an hour away from life in general. After all, television is entertainment, and cheap entertainment at that. I realize the acting is bad, and the stories are predictable, but it's better than ANY reality program on network tv.

Thank you gary I also enjoy this show as well, and just like you said it is not the best thing in the world but it sure beats all the reality tv on these days.

In contrast to the above postings, I actually enjoy the show. I'm 22 years old, and watch it online the day after the new episode comes out. I remember watching the re-runs (I was born the last year of its run). But one thing...I don't watch it thinking the acting is going to be world-class type acting. It's just like the original...cheesy lines, but the have a fast car that has a lot of gadgets and they blow a lot of stuff up. Lol. I guess I just realize what the show is and like it for what it is.

its not that bad of a show and i have no problem spending the 45 minutes watching it when i have free time to watch tv. i much prefer it over any of the dancing with the stars/idol's/reality crap that occupies most of the time slots.

I am sick and tired of this site bashing the new knight rider. This show is tons better with the special effects then the original show ever was. I am 37 years old and watched the original when it was new and in reruns too. I think you need to get off your high horse and stop bashing the show. YOu are also upset that KITT is A FORD MUSTANG and not a Camaro or TransAM. I take it that you are a GM guy and hate FORD with every ounce of your body and must think ford is like hitler.
