eBay Find of the Day: Ferrari + NSX = Ferracura 360 NSX

Click above for gallery of this Frankencar
Up for grabs and with 56 bids registered bids, we have eBay item number: 270287784055. The lucky top bidder gets a Ferrari 360 Modena and an Acura NSX, but only needs one parking spot. The product description explains the impossible, while almost making this thing sound appealing. "The best parts of both cars were used to build an exclusive new vehicle. The appearance comes from the Ferrari 360 Modena, the quality and reliability from [a] Honda NSX... this is definitely no comparison to the Toyota MR2, Peugeot 306, or Pontiac Fierro [sic] conversions..."
So you get a 94,000 km, 300 hp, Acura NSX with a custom body and interior that make it look something like a Ferrari 360. Lighter, more reliable, and cheaper to maintain than a Ferrari, presumably more lust-worthy than a stock-bodied NSX, and all for just EUR 25,500.
While the front and rear views might make you think it's a real Ferrari at first glance, that NSX greenhouse makes any other angle a dead giveaway. The builder didn't do a bad job, but it's just another project that has us scratching our heads and asking, "Why?" It's in Zurich, Switzerland if you're interested. Thanks for the tip, Emanuel!

booo...nsx dont need this hit. Original nsx looks way better than it competitor f355, and newer nsxr looks better than 360. Booo whoever did this!

From an appearance standpoint, this actually has a certain Sultain of Brunei special look to it. I'd call that a job well done.

It would fit in very well with the Sultan's other cars...

That's it! If I ever hit the jackpot, I'm gonna buy Ferrari or a Bugatti and make it look like a Chevy Aveo. Just so I can do the complete oppisite of what all these other knuckleheads are doing.

Oooh.
A real Ferrari dressed as a rusted Fiero.
Ultimate sleeper at the lights, security (through obscurity) system, and no worries about scratches in the parking lot.
Duncan 9:33PM (10/18/2008)
Actually, I'd question the authenticity of a "rusted Fiero", especially since that oft-maligned Pontiac came with plastic body panels as standard.
Your point is well-taken, however. I also think that stuffing an NSX V6 under the hood of a 1980s Accord would be a useful contribution to society.
XGM 9:51PM (10/18/2008)
Well i have a 04 Aveo id swap for the leftover Ferrari :P
Jason 12:44PM (10/19/2008)
The Fiero didn't have plastic body panels, they were fiberglass.

Actually, a tasteful job on the conversion.

Forgot to mention one major thing. Slower than Ferrari too!

To be fair, when the NSX first came out it was just as fast as the Testarossa because of it's much lighter weight.

wow. way to waste a beautiful nsx.

Agree, great waste of brilliant supercar. The NSX should not be subject to treatment like this.
f3rg 2:37PM (10/18/2008)
Yeah, the NSX was a great looking car. Now there's one less of these beauties in the world. :/

Japanese reliability with a Ferrari badge, I like it!

Why?
Just another example of brains being replaced by money. Very common malady.

No, if he had money he'd have bought a real 360

I would think a Ferrari motor in it would be the best of bost worlds. Overall, the engine in the NSX was its biggest complaint and why many find it laughable as a sports car so thats a major mistake in calling it the best of both worlds. If anyone was given the choice, they would take the Ferrari engine. So, he is lying about the car from the get go, must be a car salesman.
That said, it's so wonderful, he wants to sell it.

the engine of the NSX was basically the same engine from the TL type S
the whole point was to keep the cost and operational costs down, and maintain a high level of reliability for the owner.
if you look at the service schedule of the NSX, it's not much different than the TL. Can't say the same for any other super car. Not everyone wants to worry about service and repair bills. Personally, as long as the engine performs adequately, it doesn't matter if it's exotic or not.
and as for the power, 280HP is not too much, but to be honest, unless you're one of those guys who drag races on highways, you don't really need much more.
I'm not entirely sure, but I remember reading that Honda wants to put a V10 in the new NSX. If you ask me, they are making a mistake. They should go with an NA V6 again, tuned for ~330HP with a very high redline. (only if they can refrain from increasing the weight of the car by a significant amount)
