Clarkson injured in head-on crash during filming
According to a report by the UK's Mirror, Jeremy Clarkson has been injured during filming of the BBC version of Top Gear. The story doesn't divulge the circumstances of the crash or what the presenter was driving during the incident, but according to Clarkson, the head-on collision was his first serious crash in 31 years. Top Gear's front-man described his injuries in typical Clarksonian style thusly: "My right index finger looked like a burst sausage, my left shin was fatter than my thigh and my back felt like someone had driven over it with a pile-driver." Clarkson's wife took a call from the Mirror on Saturday and told the tabloid that her husband was fine. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to the Top Gear team's triumphant return on November 2nd. Top tip Lee![Source: Mirror.co.uk]

So the Sebring finally took revenge on Clarkson.

"Absolute Ruuubiiish!"

It'd would be ironic if he was driving a European or Japaneese car.

The Health and Safety People will likely order a full investigation of the practices on that show, and shut down filming until the BBC promises that there will be no more powersliding on Top Gear. :(

And after the investigation, the findings will indeed conclude, that yes, he is infact a DB.

Clarkson is entertaining - nothing more, nothing less.
Like Stern and Limbaugh - I may not like one or the other, but I wish harm to neither.
Get well soon Jezza.

no really Rush and the lies he spread can die in a firey crash...I'm cool with that. He may only be an entertainer to you and me but he's the word of truth and the brainwashed rove'ism to millions...

Damn, Is Captain Slow next? Unlikely though. Get well soon Archbishop Clarkson!

Doubt it. Haha, Captain Slow can't even reach a fast enough speed to even get injured if he crashes.
Franz 1:13PM (10/13/2008)
Well, let's not forget that Captain Slow did have the balls to go flat out in a Veyron. ;)

So true, and I think he still is affected by the trauma up to this day.
Beastage 10:33AM (10/13/2008)
Im not so sure about it, I think Hammond's crash was highly exaggerated.
First he was in near death condition, then stable, then amazing recovery from a head trauma.
Then we got to see the accident on TV... looks frightening but in reality it wasn't any more serious than average nascar, f1, wrc or drug racing accident.

2 questions for Beastage...
1. Are any of those crashes you listed easy, lame, less-than-scary, safe, or otherwise? All those have real-life consequences and your chances of being injured are high. People can and should be traumatized...they're harrowing.
2. WTF is a drug race? Lay off the Fast and the Furious, ok buddy?

Beastage - maybe read the book?

Been watching the show for ages through BBC America and is one of my favorites. Travel quite a bit on business so have downloaded some of the best episodes for entertainment on long layovers. Simply ADORE Clarkson (could watch him read the damn phone book if it was on TV) - but even if I didn't I wouldn't wish anybody the recovery that Hamster has had... and continues to have.
Mobius_1 9:48AM (10/13/2008)
Is he going on TV interviews to talk about his "near-death experience"? Or writing a book about it, but then realises he's a worse writer than his wife and letting her write it?
November can't come soon enough

If you're so sure it was exaggerated, why don't you flip upside down at 280mph, then come to a stop by digging your head into the dirt?

He probably blame it on some american trash heap.
The one sitting behind the barn ten miles from his crash because brits make the best cars on the road as will tell us over and over. Not that I mind tea in the afternoon but I prefer coffee and not paying VAT or DOT or all the other taxes that they heap on lories and cars with bonnets. But I guess it helps takes the sting out of paying all these duties by complaining about them Foreign cars. Clarkson would be hard to stomach if he want so damned entertaining. Hopefully his sausage will recover with no lasting injuries.
